If you hate our "QWERTY" keyboard layout, blame Christopher Sholes. He changed it from the original in 1873 to lessen the chances of the keys jamming.

Re: the QWERTY keyboard it is the same layout as ASDF that you mention (just first or second line of the keys). The original layout was alphabetical I believe

I dont think I oculd even type with that.... The current ASDF has been like that since Commodore 64 (My C64 has the same layout and thats from the 80s)
