Let’s hope it is a good month for all of us.
So far June has gotten off to a good start for me.
How about everyone else?

June has been fine for me, except for the national train strike, they have stopped me going out and visiting other parts of London.

We went to a country park yesterday for a walk and an ice cream. We didn’t realise that there was a music event (Trance in the Woods) going on in part of the park. The music could be heard everywhere.

So, yesterday I did my volunteering at the library, albeit later in the day than I had been doing. And when I got home I spent some time in the pool, getting exercise in there.
Today we were gonna go in the pool in the afternoon hours, but the sun wasn't out very long, plus the air temperature was chillier than that of yesterday.

Frustrated.
First my computer would start up properly, secondly my tablet is not responding well, and thirdly I am feeling rough with the weather.
...and I have not had a cup of tea yet.

Was the music pleasant to hear?
It was various types of “trance” music, with notable drum tracks. I recognised the intro to New Year’s Day by U2 had been sampled in one song and Freed from Desire by Gala was playing as we left.

Sounds pleasing to the ear, I take it that Enya was not heard?

So, at home we are going to paint our downstairs walls a new color, but we haven’t made a final decision yet because we have several options in mind and are trying to figure out which one will look best.

I got very slightly sunburnt today. I wasn’t careful enough when putting the sunscreen on and missed an area around my elbow/upper arm. I was helping at an orienteering event and then went on my course so I was out in the blazing sun for about four hours.

You can wind up with sun damage if you're not careful, always apply it beforehand.

Please take good care, especially when we are not use to the extreme weather we are having.
Did you take a cool shower or bath, for that can be a helpful start, the cool water from a shower, bath or cold compress works to tame the inflammation that occurs around a sunburn.

So, over the weekend we were considering buying some new furniture for our living room. (Specifically, a sofa and loveseat.) We visited the local La-Z-Boy store and found a set that we think would be good for our home. So we spoke with a friendly sales associate, told him we were interested in a particular set; he helped us choose a color option and other elements. And today we decided to purchase it. However, it won't be delivered for a couple more months, because it has to be manufactured, then delivered.

I do apply it before leaving the house. I just put a thinner layer on one small area, but had to spend most of the day in the full sunshine.

I went to the hospital yesterday afternoon for the results of my biopsy. Turns out that I have early stage breast cancer (again). Only this time it shows signs of being invasive (i.e likely to spread).
I have surgery booked for the end of July and will start chemotherapy sometime in the Autumn.

That’s good to know. Anytime one of my past computers acted like that, I would try some of those tactics to see if that would solve the problem. And in some cases, it does work.

Anyway, I think my dad had a really nice Father's Day today. I cooked a breakfast for him; we spent time doing some activities together (such as playing cards, doing a crossword puzzle, etc); we went into the pool this afternoon to get some exercise... and then I helped my mom cook dinner for him. :)

Last Sunday we had a lovely sunny afternoon in our local town centre where I was Morris dancing and Dai and his mum were looking at a classic cars exhibition.
Then in the early evening we had a tremendous downpour (about 40mm of rain I heard later). The brook next to the house burst its bank, flooding our back lawn and the drains between the house and garage failed, flooding the garage.
Today Dai has been digging between the house and garage to get to the drains and pull out the roots that have got in. He has to do this every few years. I guess eventually he will get fed up with doing it and we will get someone in to replace the whole bit

A really amazing thing happened today.
I was in Cambridge for James’s graduation. The format is that the students process through the streets from their college to the Senate House where the degrees are conferred. We saw them start and then tried to get ahead of them to see the procession arrive at the Senate House. I got caught behind a bit of crowd and was dashing to catch up with Dai and Elizabeth when I spotted someone I recognised. I asked them their name and then asked if they were called Bobo.
It was Bobo who used to be here on the boards. We had a very quick chat and then I took a selfie with him

I got caught behind a bit of crowd and was dashing to catch up with Dai and Elizabeth when I spotted someone I recognised. I asked them their name and then asked if they were called Bobo.
It was Bobo who used to be here on the boards. We had a very quick chat and then I took a selfie with him
Awesome!! (I also saw your picture with him on FB.)
Subject: Re: Jumping into June... how are you going to spend this month?

On this final day of June, it was a busy one at my office. I learnt how to do some new tasks (one of which adds to my end-of-month routine). However, we did have an itty-bitty problem with one piece of machinery. We had to call technical support...and eventually got the problem resolved. Thankfully, we got everything done before it was time to go. So, it's time to close the month of June!
