Subject: Name that spider.

This debate went around work yesterday and a majority remember it (incorrectly I might add) one way while a few of us
remember it another. In the nursery about the spider heading up waterspout, what was the descriptor of said spider?

"itsy-bitsy" is the only descriptor I can recall...

Unless this is a joke or some kind of riddle, why didn't anybody just look it up?

Could this have something to do with the "Mandela Effect"?

Incey-wincey is a new one, I've never heard that one before. Most people I ask are in the Itsy-Bitsy camp whereas others
were in the eensy-weensy camp but I have always said inky-dinky.

Jeez, and I thought this post was a joke. This is definitely the Mandala Effect. Either that, or there are regional variations, which also makes sense.

It may also be generational, of all the people asked very few said inky-dinky and those that did were over 50.

I'm well over 50 and never heard inky dinky, it was always itsy bitsy

Same here. I'm over 50 (way over) and it was always "itsy bitsy". It's the way my mother told it to me and she was even older. Like I said, it might be a regional thing.

I just searched on Google “what spider climbed up the spout”

The first option was a Youtube video where the image says “ Itsy-bitsy spider” and the lyrics underneath says “Incy-wincy spider”

Like Karen above, it has always been “Incy Wincy Spider” for me, but I have heard "Itsy Bitsy" on various children singing videos and programs from other parts of the world. So it must be a regional variation.

Itsy Bitsy Spider.  I even remember Senator Ted Kennedy singing it when he campaigned for Senator Akaka.
