Yes, the month has changed again, so it's time for a new monthly thread.

Today, Labor Day, I am staying at home and not doing too much strenuous activity. At some point this afternoon I'm gonna help paint our guest bedroom; it is one of the rooms in our home that has not yet been painted in all the years we've lived in it.

So, this morning I took the car in for service. It was a little overdue, but today was the earliest date that I could get an appointment for a service (I called last week). All is seemingly well with the car, which is good.

Another busy day at work today. The volume of work I've had to process has gradually increased over time; I've contemplated asking for more hours to work so that I won't feel swamped.

Today we were supposed to have the pool company come over and do the next step: caulking. But they had to cancel earlier this week because they had another urgent project going on. So maybe next week they'll come over.
Instead, today we're painting the walls in our guest bedroom.

I had somewhere to go this morning; I brought my camera with me in case I wanted to take a "weather" photo. And I'm glad I did, because at noon (or shortly thereafter) I found something to take a picture of (the outdoors). So then I posted it onto Facebook, and the picture was shared at the start of tonight's weather report! And the meterologist announced my full name on TV.
If you'd like to see the picture, it's in the Nature/Outdoor Pics You Have Taken thread in the Photos section.

lot of my plants in the ground are looking bla and none are flowering any more. I decided that I'm going to need a nice tall Arizona plant to cast some shade, perhaps Tuscon. There's some seeds for a plant I'd like to try at Amazon. There's seeds for lots of stuff I wouldn't mind trying ( desert species of butterfly plants that will probably do a lot better) and even two live plants if I want to try to get them before they might not be available

Tomorrow the next phase of our pool (the caulking) will get accomplished. I will be at work, but my parents will be at home so they can oversee it.

I am willing to learn. When I was a little kid I was deathly afraid of going underwater; however, in my teen years I did briefly have lessons for a couple of summers. Once the entire project gets completed, it will serve as another source for exercise.

I have a planting area by the side of the house and it will go black at some point of time. I was just reading an article that plant roots in no sun are going to be growing plants that will take less or no sun. this area is probably not going to work for plants. I already know that pots get too hot if I leave them there in the sun. Have to get a shade screen and move the plants somewhere else later when it goes black over there so the roots don't get damaged.

That work finished on Friday, and the next phase will be done later this week. Ive been taking pictures...which I do not intend to share openly until after it's all completed (sometime next month).

Spent yesterday morning waiting for contact to be made, it never happened, which allowed to go out for various errands, and on arriving home, switched and set up the computer to continue here, only to suffer from a 30 second power cut, which played up the Internet connection, and I struggled to be online. So I had a more restful evening.

Today (Tuesday) I had a luncheon with my coworkers at a restaurant in close proximity to the office. We had been meaning to do something like this for a good part of the year, but we'd had no time up until now. Joining us were two women who work with the company, but have their own respective offices because they have their own clinical roles with the company. We all had a great time at the restaurant (which, for the record, was an Italian eatery that I had never eaten at before, but enjoyed the entree I ordered). So today was a really good day for me. :)
