Welcome to the Inthe00s Virtual Playground.

EVERYBODY IS WELCOME!!!! You can forgot your troubles here.
There are only four rules:

1. No fighting.
2. Keep it clean.
3. Use your imagination.
4. Have fun.

We have a slide (as big as you want), monkey bars (again, as big as you want), a trampoline, a swing set, and anything else you want. We have a basketball court, a tennis court, volleyball, or anything else. You decide what we have.

I'll start with the slide. It is one of those BIG ones that you having to climb all those stairs and use a carpet to go down.

WHOOSH! That was fun. But, I hate climbing the stairs to get back up. This time I will take the elevator.

WHOOSH! Still fun.

Now, I'm going to go to the swing set. I can swing high because I don't have to worry about the poles coming out.

Of course this would be more fun if others join me.

Who will play with me?

I haven't actually played tennis in more than 20 years but I'm sure it would be lots of fun! (I even got rid of my racket a few years back because the handle got all rusty and mutilated. Now I'mma have to get a new one someday.)

I see that this wonderful playground is on a really nic, large lake, and that there a few day sailors at the dock. I think they are big enough for 4. Anyone want to join me for a sail - no experience necessary? I'll even bring lunch

I never heard of it (had to Google it).

For me, I can't decide between pistachio or a maple creemee. Of course in the virtual Playground, I can have both (and not worry about calories). ;D ;D ;D

Yes, there is another van in town that plays Greensleeves.

I don't recall if the ice cream van played a tune when we were in the US. You didn't get them driving around the streets like here, but one would drive between the town swimming pools at regular intervals.

I would say mini golf doesn't necessarily have the 'fun' elements like windmills, dart boards etc, but the hazards are usually humps, zig zags or chicanes. Both are still fun though

It was crazy golf that got me started in golf, followed by putting on greens, with miniature golf following, then on to the full blown game.

When I was about 7 or 8, my best friend & I decided to "run away" from home. The only thing we took with us were dog biscuits-just in case we met some dogs along the way. Of course we were home before anyone realize we "ran away." lol.

My best friend at the time was pretty much a dog whisperer-even at that young age. You would see her walking down the street surrounded by a bunch of dogs-and I think only one, maybe two were hers. The others were just dogs who really liked her.

However I have played it with an odd number of players (three, to be exact: my parents and me), individually, with one of us completing the course and coming out on top. It was lotsa fun. :)

True story. It was a big competition between units when I was stationed overseas. But, I did not train-I basically just jumped in without having been in a pool in YEARS. I lucked out that there were only 2 other people in the race because if there were more, I wouldn't have gotten the points for our team like I did.

Yes, horses can swim, and they already know how to do it without being taught! ... The horse propels itself forward by moving its legs as if trotting. Horses are at risk in the water, though, as they are unable to hold their breath. So if the water goes over the horse's head it will quickly drown.

We were coming back from doing an errand and just made a bit of a detour-which only took us about a mile out of our way. We usually stop to get one when we are in the area but don't make trips specifically to get one.

The rules usually require that you alternately take turns sliding, by hand, all 4 of your weights against the ones from your opponent. Try to make it to the highest scoring area on the shuffleboard without falling off the end of the board into the alley.

Now that I think about it, it seems similar to a "Sorry Sliders" game I have seen on TV... or even like curling in a sense. You can bump your opponents' pieces out of place, adding to the challenge.

Probably. My chairs move, too. When watching tv, I sit in a recliner/rocker that swivels and my computer chair also swivels but doesn't rock-well, not really. I used to have a waterbed that I rocked myself to sleep. What is funny, sometimes when I am sitting in a chair that doesn't move, I find myself rocking.

I was thinking of Calvinball because it's a game in which participants make up the rules as they go along (i.o.w, it's improvisational). It was coined in the comic strip Calvin & Hobbes and was a recurring storyline during the last half of the strip's run (1990-1995). The title characters, who are often seen playing the game, usually wear masks (like the one pictured in my above post) and use a volleyball as the titular ball (also shown in the picture).

It could be. I haven't played poker in so long (except on one of those electronic hand-held machines). There are several advanced techniques that I do not understand. (Maybe because I don't play it regularly.)

I used to play it during recess in elementary school. For the most part, however, I wasn't especially great at it. That is, offensively -- anytime I got a hit (or in this case, "kick"), it was usually a single. Defensively I was so-so; I could pitch well, and sometimes I could play an infield position.

True story: We were staying at an Airbnb in Puerto Rico with 2 of Carlos' kids, grandkids, a boyfriend & his 2 kids (there were 11 of us all together.) Why are you asking me these questions? I don't have a clue. I wore cleats way back in the dark ages when I played soccer in high school. That was the first and last pair of cleats I ever had. I don't know how much they cost. You could always look up the price if you are interested.

Kickball was so much fun, I almost got home runs all the time, the last time I remember playing kickball was almost 35 years ago in school.

Snow? What's that? Today it is raining. My SIL in southern California gets more snow than we do-but she is in nosebleed central. She is above 7,000 feet.

The "official" number is 18-9 per team but when played in schools, they just divide the class in half.

Here are some guys playing kickball.

It also can depend on the class size. I sometimes played it with ten players (five per team), which meant some kids would play more than one defensive position. And sometimes we would have to move around to cover various spots. We almost never had a catcher, since the backstop was close enough behind the plate. (But that meant tagging out a potential run-scorer would be difficult.)

When I played it in elementary school, I mostly got singles. Occasionally I got extra-base hits.

I wasn't exactly a fan of dodgeball at first; the trick was to get out of the way of the ball being thrown at you (hence the name of the game), but I got better at it (I think).

When I was a kid in elementary school, I used to like playing handball, foursquare, and kickball at recess.

Could you please explain briefly the rules of the playing of these games?

Handball: you hit a ball against a wall. There are some variations of how it's played. In some cases you have to let the ball bounce before you hit it. In the Olympics you can play with teams of several players. But at school I've always played it as a two-player game (this is "American" handball according to Wiki); the players take turns hitting the ball until one of them fumbles. Four-square: played by four players in a 2x2 square court. The squares are often labeled A,B,C,D (or with numbers 1 through 4). One player will bounce the ball to another player; that player must bounce the ball to a different player, and so forth until one of the players fumbles.

Dodgeball back in the days was kind of dangerous, just try not to get hit with the ball either in the head or the stomach area.

The fun part is after everybody has been eliminated, just 2 people on both sides are left and either one of you is trying to dodge the ball.

At that point it is probably easier for them to move out of the way of the oncoming ball, since there is more space around them.
