In 2000, The Beatles launched their first official website www.thebeatles.com. The site went live on the same day as the release of their retrospective 'Compilation 1' album. But the website now, has been taken over by another.

Aw, what a shame. But then again, lots of bands/artists have official Facebook fanpages, and many such users are liking them there. So, not much of a surprise overall.

Geocities.com

I remember this website

So do I; I think it was a subsidiary of Yahoo. All sites under the domain of geocities are probably gone now.

As a result, sites like cinemorgue.com died too, although Cinemorgue continued later on another domain.
