This is my 10,000th post. I finally made it through, even after a year, 3 months, and 5 days after I joined this site.

For the record, it took me about half a year to get to that plateau (that is, ever since this version of the board was launched exactly 12 1/2 years ago).

Only in six months? That seems to be fast for anybody who's been here for 12 years.

Yeah, a lot of my posts were in the PBG section (and still are), which is why I got to the five-figures in that length of time. However, I was not the first to get there; one particular former member (who was also a frequent PBG poster) beat me to it.
That's also why I still have such a large count today. However, if certain other members who've frequently contributed there, were still doing it these days, I'd probably be closer to 400,000 by now. (But I don't think I'll have that figure until at least sometime in the early 2020s.)

Now I am wondering how long it took me to reach 100,000?

I registered here on May 8th 2004, and it was on March 8th 2005 when I hit that total.
How many days will that be?

According to timeanddate.com, you reached the 100,000 post mark in just 305 days between May 8, 2004 and March 8, 2005.

I didn't get there until November 2nd 2007.

Man, that seems fast for you guys. Although having 100,000 posts in late 2006/early 2007 seems long when you guys joined this site in early 2004.

Well, I guess you could definitely say that... although Howard doesn't contribute to the PBG, like Philip and I do. Chances are that if Ktelqueen had been active in the last ten years, she'd have over 200,000 right now (she did lots of posting from 2004-2006, but then went away).

Well, most people who signed up here in the mid 2000s would probably have over 100,000 posts, if they were still regulars here.

...and that would probably have put me closer to 400,000 by now (and possibly 800,000 for Philip). PBG had many regular contributors during the mid 2000s, besides me. Of course I contribute to other sections of the board as well, including Penguin Quizzes, which I posted several of during that time (and would enjoy taking part in others' quizzes as well).

As much as I try to contribute towards the PBG subforum, it sucks that there isn't a lot of people here now. Even though this forum used to have hundreds, which is not that big towards other forums.

And a number of those people's accounts still exist, despite not being active for several years.

True. But it's not most of them are active most of the time. Especially since when they registered, they used computers that they probably got rid of in 5-7 years after they were members.

Even I have changed computers over the years. In fact, during most of the first 5+ years I was a member here, I often used public computers, in addition to the ones I've had at home. Even recently I have used a computer in the library to access this site. Right now I'm on the one at home.

I've never really used a public computer to access this site. The only devices that I access this site on is my iPad, iPhone, and my home computer.

Good for you. I don't have an iAnything, so that's out of the question for me. I don't even have a smartphone. So my only means of accessing the internet have always been by means of a computer. Even when I first discovered this site in the early 2000s (through Amiright, which I first discovered in 2000).

That's somehow interesting. For somebody who doesn't like using iPhones that much, I wish I could either an Android or some slider phone. Although, I dealt with having a slider phone and it sucked when I was using it.

Maybe someday I'll get a smartphone, so I can access the internet on the go. That way I know when I get an email notification or a Facebook notification or something like that. But first I'm going to save up enough $$$ so I can purchase one. That's why I hope for a full time job sometime in the near future.

Oh. I guess that's why you usually post at your home. Sometimes people think that I'm on texting on my iPhone, but I'm actually forum posting. Especially on this site.

That's right, there was a crash on the old board, which was around from late 2001 thru early 2004. I began posting on there in 2003, only as a guest, but then in February of 2004 I finally registered. And then in April of that year, the old board crashed, and it took a week for the site to finally be restored, with a completely new system. (Then of course we had to register brand new accounts and start brand new threads.)
