This weekend we are going to the Lake district for a big orienteering event.  we will be staying with some other members of our club in a village hall.  The air mattresses are packed ready.

One of the areas we are running on is an area of special scientific interest so we have been asked to clean and disinfect our shoes beforehand. I did everyone's shoes this morning.  I managed to muddle up which shoes people were taking so I've done 11 or 12 pairs altogether.

So far today I have had a nice Easter. Went to a church service in the morning with my parents, and then the three of us went out to brunch and had a great meal. :)

We all had a great time in the Lake District over the Easter weekend.  James and I were in our usual supporting roles on our respective orienteering courses, Dai did ok and Elizabeth came second overall on W18 long.  Sadly there was also a W18 elite course so they didn't award prizes on the course Elizabeth was competing in.

The weather has been great now we are back home which means I've been able to get loads of washing clean and James and I cleaned, washed and dried all the sports shoes yesterday.

My dad had a cataract operation yesterday morning.  He was only at the hospital for the morning.  He is not allowed to drive for a couple of weeks or so while things settle down.  He said when he puts his glasses on the vision is blurred in the eye that was operated on.  Not sure is this will get better with time or if he needs a new prescription for his lenses.

My mother had a cataract removed a long time ago. She kept it in a container with formaldehyde. She would show it people and asked them what they thought it was. It eventually disintegrated over the years. I think she FINALLY threw it away because it wasn't around when we cleaned out her house. Yeah, my mother was weird.

Later in the morning Dai will drop me at a park and ride on the outskirts of Oxford.  I am going to Oxford Folk Festival for the weekend with the morris dancers.

Crazy Saturday night at work....I'll dispatcher and another who's wife went into labor lead to me working alone from 5pm to 8 am (I was supposed to be off at 3am so I could sleep before my event  :-\\ ) 

Went home slept for 90 mins then drove 2.5hrs to la went to a performance of T-Boz (TLC) and faith Evans and Kat Graham (vampire diaries).


The show was Amazing!!!

Thankfully a coworker steeped up and worked the Sunday grave for me. Now a walking dead event tonight and then back on Tuesday for a 15hr shift


I forgot my laptop. I'll post my pics tomorrow

As for me, I am still on the hunt for employment. This morning I even went to a jobclub (held on Monday mornings at the V.A.C.E., the place where I took my accounting course last year) and discussed various approaches to finding a specific type of job.

Jackets will be necessary on this trip because we're going to Alaska, and even in May it can be cooler up there. So we will definitely make sure we're prepared for cold weather.

Passport will be necessary. One of the ports of call will be in Canada, and even though we're coming from the US, we'll still need it. Especially at the end of the cruise, since we'll be coming into the port of Seattle. (That's another thing; this will be my first cruise that doesn't involve L.A.!)

This morning, my mom was able to upgrade our room for our upcoming cruise. Originally, we booked in an interior stateroom, since that was the only affordable room left... but we got a special offer for which we could upgrade; so we are now going to be in a mini-suite, which will be a better accommodation for three people.

My dreaded Geology class is officially done. I passed, barely!  8)

I got a C, a 75.46% to be very obsessive compulsive. A 73 is a C, which is barely passing in my college.

The other two classes are more my forte.

I doubt he will ever need it again.  I'm pretty sure he won't be out in the world picking up rocks and pondering them....ever  ;D

me too; math has always been a strong subject of mine. However, there were a few math classes that were challenging for me (particularly an upper-division course that I'd taken in college and regret keeping because it was a struggle from day one).

Thank God they didn't have the rope climbing test when I was in public school. I would have failed. Another subject (rope climbing) I'm terrible at.

I didn't mind Geography. In fact, though some people find it boring, I find it interesting.
