Subject: Fun with smartphones
Written By: whistledog on 07/26/13 at 6:23 pm
So for those who remember this, I found a way to do it 21st century style. So there is an application I found called Oscar Remote. How it works: If you have an Internet capable TV connected to Wi-Fi, this application will find it and you can use your smartphone as a remote control for your TV. As I was out walking the other night, I was testing my phone to see how far away I could get before I couldn't find my Wi-Fi connection anymore, when my phone automatically connected to a non password protected Wi-Fi connection that was in my area. When I opened up Oscar Remote, it found a TV that was using that Wi-Fi connection. So naturally what did I do? I fiddled with the channel buttons, the volume control, and when I pressed the power button, that TV was no longer in the list ;D The big question remains, do I do this more? Nah. It's no fun if you don't know who you are doing it to lol

If you don't already have this one, I would recommend the game Temple Run. It is 100% free and 100% awesome! There are also paid versions of it, one based on Disney's Brave, and another based on the Sam Raimi flick Oz: The Great and Powerful. I don't know if it's on Android or Blackberry, but it's available for the Apple iPhone and Windows Phone
