about 9 yrs ago, when I last had a stove, I did try and make ham and it just didn't taste as good as other ham I'd had... I tried a couple times but always seemed to fail miserably....but it'd be fun to watch effie do her happy dance around good smelling food....  :D

I like to have it as a slightly runny paste; really depends on how much ham you have.  Maybe a 1/2 cup of apple juice (or pineapple, or orange; something sweet GRAPE does not do well though) and 1/4 c of brown sugar..

Some friends came down 2 weeks ago from Nebraska to KC to watch the band Cake play (excellent show, BTW) and after the show they smoked one of those funny cigarettes. (I could not partake because I am subject to random drug testing at my job.) They had originally planned to stay at another friend's house but something fell through so I invited them to stay at my place instead. Once we got to my place they told me they were hungry (big shock) but it was late so I took them to a Wal-Mart down the street where they loaded up on groceries.

This was on a Friday night and they left Saturday morning. Sunday I did nothing but lounge around my place all day, and later in the afternoon I got hungry but I really wasn't feeling up for going to the grocery store so I looked in my freezer, thinking the pickings were going to be slim, but imagine my delight when I saw a large DiGiorno pizza in there, along with a couple boxes of Little Debbie snack cakes.

Even though I don't partake, my place is definitely 420 friendly now.  ;D

No. Deli ham (like sandwich ham) is not as good as a thick cut of ham (and I don't know about Pathmark) but my supermarket deli doesn't sell what I like classify as holiday ham...well except during the holidays.

Well good news, baked ham itself is fairly lean unless you are eating the fat layer around it!  Weight gain is most likely water weight from all the salt content!

Okay, I read this entire frickin thread and never found out....HOW DID YOU GET THE FREE HAM??? ;D ;D ;D

BTW, for some amazing recipes, check out thepioneerwoman.com. Although snoz might not want to if she's still looking to lose weight because most of her recipes are not what I'd call "weight/diet-friendly" ;) I tried her "over-easy eggs" recipe over the weekend and they turned out AMAZING!!! Not runny at all (although I DEFINITELY had to blot off the excess oil ;))
