Am I the only one who doesn't associate your b-day with April Fools Day?  I associate it with one of my other favorite celebrations... the anniversary of the first airing of an episode of General Hospital  8)  Since I associate you with something as important as a TV show, and one of the finest soaps to ever grace the small screen,  I think you should realize just how important your birthday is to me!  :)

A long time ago, Carlos & I went to L.A. (It was my first visit there, actually.) We drove all night and arrived at his sister's just as she was going to work. Carlos told me that he planned to stay up and go to sleep at a "normal" time that evening. He started playing on his sister's laptop and I was watching. I was waiting for him to make another move and then I looked at him. He was sound asleep.  :D ;D ;D ;D  I am totally amazed at where he can fall asleep and in what positions.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter.  Rain yesterday, but today is beautiful and looking more beautiful all the time!  We woke early and the local conservation service had a Easter Shed Hunt (looking for deer antler sheds in the forest) for kids, followed by an Easter Egg hunt.  The girls had a blast - we had a great time walking around as a family (thinking of going to their geocaching event in a couple of weeks).  Went and picked Addy out a new bunny rabbit (since her last one became a doggy chew toy) this one is new and improved (breathing and hopping)and it's name is Butterscotch. Tomorrow going to my moms... hopefully we are taking her out to eat.

I'd kind of like to know where the sun is and why it's  windy today.  Yep I'm thinking about my garden, think I'll go out there and put some more seeds in the ground.

Never mind, it just started leaking the second I stepped out the garage door, plus it is cold enough to get myself sick. 

We went out to an Easter brunch buffet, as we have been doing for the past several years. We enjoy doing that because we don't have to do any of the cooking! In addition to my family and me, a friend of my mom's joined us and we had a nice time. Now we are at home resting.

There was a 6.9 quake in Baja California.  They said it was felt as far away as Santa Barbara, did you feel it, Q?

spent the afternoon in the park with a crowd of friends.  After lunch the dads and kids played cricket.  We got home about 5 and there was a message on the phone to meet some other friends in a different park (with a playground) for dessert and ice cream!

We've been at a church Easter conference all weekend (Friday to today), last session tonight. Some good stuff.

I heard about that and we talked to granddaughter #2 in San Bernadino but she said she didn't feel it-but she may have been distracted. This kid is such a trip and a half. She called me for my birthday both on our landline & the cell-she left a message on each one. Yup-a 5 year old calls us all the time. I wonder if her mother is aware each time she calls. Back in Oct. when we went to PR for a couple of weeks, she left 17 messages.  :o :o :o :o  Of course each one was funnier than the last. Apparently, she calls granddaughter #1 almost everyday. It is amazing how much a 5 & 6 year old have to talk about.  :D ;D ;D ;D

I guess it is, I was at the dentist last week. Aside from the routine cleaning they had to make a mold so I can be fitted
with a mouth guard. She said that I grind my teeth so bad when I sleep that in ten years I won't have anything left to
put a crown on. She also told me that grinding my teeth could be the source of my migraines, we'll find out soon enough.

I feel like I started a trend. I went to the dentist and now everyone is going to go, too.  :D ;D ;D ;D

I had an OTC mouth guard once and it was extremely uncomfortable. I didn't go for the dentist fitted one because my insurance wouldn't pay
for it. Now it seems they will pay for it so I'll give it a try and see what happens.

I think they had a lot of fun.  It was a reward for reaching the target on their good behaviour chart.  They built forts out of chairs, desks and blankets in the classroom and as I left the teacher was handing out munchkins!

Okay, the trip basically sucked for me because we didn't do anything but talk.  On a paper it said we would go to the beach or something, but that didn't happin.  The wedding, there was a DJ I'm saved!  Now I'm not going on any more vacations with my family especially if I continue to be deaf.

I know you have been looking at learning signing online but have you tried to find any ASL classes at the college or the University?

In addition to talking with some people, I had to take some testing (which included proofreading, vocabulary, and letter-writing skills... in addition to familiarity with features of MS Office programs), and I did well on that. The people said that they'd be in touch with me, and call me if I get the job, or if someone else gets it (they'll let me know one way or the other). Hopefully I will get this job...which would be so nice!!

Took my parents to see Nanny McPhee today, we had a great time.

Tomorrow we are going to London for my great uncle's memorial service at St Clement Danes the R.A.F church. After that we are going to the Victoria and Albert Museum mostly to see an exhibition on quilts (from 1500 through to the present day), but to also have a nosy around. I *LOVE* going there.  :)

But some idiot decided it was a good idea to turn the whole section where I'm living into one giant sandpit today. So now the parking lot on the opposite side of the street (where I usually park my car) is totally inaccesible by car, as is the entrance to the car park under the apartment building. And did you think we got warned in advance...? Think again!

I was lucky I could get out in time this morning (although I had to plough through the sand).

We had an earlier morning visit from my step-daughter, son-in-law, & granddaughter #4 time morning. They were on their way to NY for their honeymoon & stopped in for breakfast.

Met with a friend this morning to plan the Teacher Appreciation week event.  It'll be a miracle if we pull this off.  We are both procrastinators so not the best to be charged with organising something this important.  We have two weeks to get things sorted and we are both on vacation for one of those weeks! 

I had my flute lesson in the afternoon then went shopping.  DSW still doesn't have the right size in the shoes Elizabeth wants.  I tried on a few pairs but couldn't decide which I preferred.  I did buy a cute change purse though.

Also mooched around Christmas Tree Shops looking for ideas for goodie bags for teacher appreciation week.

Elizabeth is on a field trip to Boston science museum today.

They're working on the street I live, right? Remodel it into less of a thoroughfare. Fine. I can live with that.
But some idiot decided it was a good idea to turn the whole section where I'm living into one giant sandpit today. So now the parking lot on the opposite side of the street (where I usually park my car) is totally inaccesible by car, as is the entrance to the car park under the apartment building. And did you think we got warned in advance...? Think again!

I was lucky I could get out in time this morning (although I had to plough through the sand).

Still haven't heard whether or not I've gotten the job yet, but I'm still hoping I do get it. Going out in a bit to watch the homecoming parade and medal giving for our local army barracks. They are the bomb disposal unit so they have earned their colours and then some.  :-\\

After that I am going shopping, got to try and find 4 birthday gifts, 2 of whom are difficult people to buy for :(

My brother and his wife are stuck in Crete due to the volcanic dust cloud so we may have to have the nephew stay when he gets home from his grandparents tomorrow.

so far today I have cleaning the downstairs bathroom, swept all of downstairs, carried various bits of junk upstairs (I debated binning some stuff because both kids assured me they'd tidyed their stuff away), assembled a sponge cake, frosted some cupcakes and then hosted a coffee morning.

Towards the end of my shift,I'm pushing the wagons and connecting them,Then all of a sudden,I turn around and I see an old girlfriend's Mother,It felt kind of awkward talking to her because I didn't know what to say to her but I said "Hello How Are You" and she asked me "How is Pathmark coming along" and I said It's pretty good,can't complain and that was the end of the conversation,nothing more,nothing less.

Well I guess jobs are busting out all over.  I was out for 16 months, now I am doing 10 hour days, it is only supposed to be for a couple of weeks, but there are jobs gearing up so everyone is optimistic!

Feel like crap - coughing and wheezy and the inhalers I already take are doing nothing for it  :P  Sooooo went to the dr. today, and yep he thinks it is because the pollen count is SO High, my asthma and allergy medicines can't keep up - sooo he put me on steroids.  If there are some harsh words, or profanity, or general mass craziness (other than normal); I apologize now. :-[

I am so sick of being sick.  I spent Friday through Sunday feverish and dizzy...now it is in my chest and I am coughing so much I have a fracken headache.

In the house we are renting, we have inherited the pretty tulips in the yards.  Our neighbor who mows the little yard in front and our shared back yard, mowed over the tulips in the front yard.  >:(  But oh well, I guess you have to take the good with the bad.  We inherited the lillies of the valley in the cement planter too, but since I never weeded the bed at all since we've moved in, I haven't seen the lillies of the valley.  :(

There was one year, my mother bought dozens & dozens of tulip bulbs. I remember having a "planting party" in the fall. We weren't too happy about doing it (well, at least I wasn't-not too sure about my sisters). But, come spring, they ALL came up-different colors and all. I remember seeing people stopping on the street to look at them all. The first time someone stopped in front of the house, I wondered what they wanted-until I realized they were just looking at all our tulips. There were quite a few people who did that because we lived on a main street-actually we lived on Main Street. lol.

First full day in Arizona.  We went to Meteor Crater and then to Winslow to stand on the corner.  The corner is very windy!!  We were going to head further east but someone tol us they might close the insterstate because of the dust storms so we headed back.  We visited Walnut Creek canyon pueblo site and then Lowell Observatory.  It is actually snowing in Flagstaff!!  ANd we are all tired now

I had a great day with Ash- we went to an event at the Paley Center for a show you probably never heard of... hell I don't even watch it but the creator of the series also created Veronica Mars so I was determined to meet him.  ;D  oh so the show is Party Down. It's quite funny! I plan to netflix season one... season two starts friday.

Yes they were saying on the news that they were closing part of I-40 due to nasty winds and such.

It's a beautiful morning in the Valley :)  Except for the rollover on 101 south that closed down part of the freeway around Tempe - supposedly will re-open in about 15 minutes or so.

So apparently my brother and sister in law are back in the U.K. They have been stuck in Crete for a week due to the volcanic ash.

I have to work late and then go home and finish up getting the house ready for our visitors tomorrow *SIGH* I'm too darn tired.

Getting my hair done today. Still getting the house put back together from having the kitchen redone. Yeah, yeah, I know that was last year but I only really started when we got back from PR in March-so that is only 2 months of working on it.  :-[  :D ;D ;D ;D

Sent out 31 emails at the office, only to find them all bounced. Something wrong with my account settings, I don't know how that happened. Not my fault anyway. Wasn't until after four (in the afternoon) till they got it fixed. Took me well over an hour to send all those pesky emails out again.

We've driven along little bits of the old route 66.


Today we went to Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki Pueblo National Monuments.  Both very interesting.  The volcano erupted around 1060 or so and is a 1000 ft high cinder cone.  You can't walk to the top of it any more because of erosion.  We walked to the top of a smaller cinder cone.  It was hard work - I blame the thin air!

The pueblo site is a sort of cliff dwelling.  There are several in the area to look around.  The main one had about 100 different rooms, a ballcourt and a community room.

Snowing quite hard now, we're back in the hotel relaxing.  Tomorrow we plan to drive up to Grand Canyon for the day.  Just hope the weather is decent to us

The guy at the baggage claim area was soooo nice. He gave her a couple of vouchers and put out the word for the missing ring. Hopefully, someone will find it.

Sunday we drove from Flagstaff to Phoenix.  Before going to the hotel we went to Goldfield ghost town.  Quite interesting to potter around.  we did the gold mine tour with a very weird tour guide (he spoke in a sing-song way in bursts of four words!)

Then we went to the hotel and the kids went in the pool for a while.

This morning we flew back home, via Chicago.  Now to get our body clocks readjusted - kids have school in the morning!

Well that too 8)  It is amazing how "entangled" some people are in each other...  I mean, I love my husband and family with all of my heart, and I miss them dearly when I leave - but I WILL see them again, and I CAN enjoy myself without them.  Maybe it is just my sense of survival!  My dad left me when I was little, and I always realized you could not rely on others to make sure your happy - because "things" can happen.

I wanted to run a full backup and didn't want any changes going on while it ran.  The error messages I was seeing seemed to indicate a full system crash was in the near future.  I might have been over-reacting, but better safe than sorry.

I'm glad for that too. I never woulda thought that this version of the site would last six years (although during the first few weeks it was having its share of issues).
