When I think of all the things people have done to me (admittedly not really that bad in the grand scheme of things) not once has anyone made amends by giving me a pig as an apology.  I think I'm owed at least a couple.

No Idea???? (it is all packaged in nice neat around 1# packages), note I am sure there is  not quite 50 lbs anymore, maybe 30; but when your husband works as a sow farm manager/breeding manager - you get perks, some of those are 2 pigs a year = lots a bacon

Absolutely.  A slice out of a Bacon Explosion fundamentally is no different than a Sausage McMuffin without the muffin or the egg.  It's just bacon and sausage, fer chrissakes :)  Probably less fatty than the fast-food version, because when it's smoked low-and-slow, at least some of the fat can render out.  The bacon shell keeps enough of the sausage's fat in the tube that you get the tenderizing effect of low/slow cooking without it drying out.

It's right there on the spit! 

There's a problem here.  Beer goes well with barbecue, but poorly with driving.  So how many beers can one drink per hour and still be safe to drive the pig? 

Here, take the wheel for a minute while I figure this out.

If you're stone cold sober, turning the wheel for hours on end could get pretty boring.  You'd fall asleep, and the pig would roast unevenly.

And if you get too drunk and pass out, the pig also roasts unevenly. 

The optimum point is get everyone drunk enough to be amused by the pig lazily turning on the spit, but after 4-6 hours, when the meat is falling-off-the-bone tender, to be so drunk that everyone starts to take turns, giddily spinning the wheel as hard as they can, to see just how fast they can get the pig to spin.  Eventually, someone gets it going fast enough (and the pig will get tender enough) that it flies apart at the seams, showering everyone in the back yard with juicy chunks of pulled pork, as though the skies themselves had opened up and begun to shower the world with roast joy.

If bacon is the candy of meats, the lechon could be the pinata of pork.  (Done in an enclosed space, like one of those raffle-spinning drums, it would look awesome!)
