This came to me right now as I was reading the revisions to a medication guide that goes with my Paxil.  Revision number two says, "Depression and other serious mental illnesses are the most important causes of suicidal thoughts and actions."

I don't know, it just really struck me as being one of those Captain Obvious things and I just rolled my eyes at it.

So, what are some of the most obvious things you've run across that someone has made a big deal out of like it's something new and important?  Besides the one I listed above, I ran across an article on CNN titled, "Troubled Teens May Become Troubled Adults".  Wow, are you f*cking serious?  I had no idea that that might happen! ::)

I always like when there's a power outage, and the news on TV tells you "Please do not call 9/11."

Obviously, if your power is out, you can't see the TV in which the anchor is telling us that..

But I'm willing to bet, somewhere deep down, you would like to be able to tell them to watch out their window for the trucks and when they see the trucks leave, the power will be restored.

I have seen tv weather reports that say, "Watercraft vessels should seek safe harbor immediately."  Ok, now if you are out on a boat, how are you going to see that report? Yeah, they do have some t.v. on boats but...

Of course if we are out on the boat and we see the sky getting darker & darker before the sun is supposed to go down, we head to shelter.
