Here's the gyst.  You are given the name of a participant- you search the web and collect images, audio or video of stuff they would like and then post it as a gift for them.  There is a list of participants...so don't do anything until I PM you the name of your beneficiary.  Also, the gift posting does not begin until I give the date and time.

So....check out the old thread and let me know if you're interested!

Not necessarily. If my calculations are correct, it is 8:00 p.m. there now where it is 3 p.m. here. If you did your research at 8 a.m. there, it will be 3 a.m. here which means MOST members on the East Coast would be asleep. Well...you get the picture.  ;)

I was tempted to get involved with the 'gift exchange' thing.  I have this shower curtain, covered in penguins. That would have been my gift, to whoever. However, I do suspect the cost of sending it to the USA ...  would have been 5 to ten times ... what it was worth ?

Oh well.

P.S. It is the same as the penguin shower curtain I use myself ..... have posted it here before (pix).

The gifts will go up on the 20th.  it gives you time to surf for gifts and PM people for ideas.
And just so you know- I honestly choose random pairs by pulling names out of a hat.
To keep it fun for me, whomever is assigned me as your 'gift-ee'...just PM someone and swap.  That way I won't know who it is.

So check out my thread this afternoon for more info.  Suggestions are welcome- I always forget some tiny detail.

The gift giving will definately be on a fresh thread.  That is the best, from the other years of playing.
I"m working now, but I'll be getting it all together for you all tonight!

Everyone has been contacted and given a 'giftee'.

Use this time to do your virtual shopping.  On Friday I will create the new thread on which we will begin posting.

Some tips...

1.  The idea here is to post the gifts and see if your giftee can guess it's for them.  If it's obviously not for you, don't shout out who you think its for.  If you love horses, Elvis, and America too and you see ponies and swiveling hips and golden waves of grain accompanied by an MP3 file of "Freefalling" then it's time to say...I think these are for me.

2.  All kinds of stuff can be used...photos, images, gifs, links to sites and audio, YouTube vids... put it all in one post and click.

3. Check back to the thread often.  And don't worry if it seems you've been forgotten.  Sometimes it takes a while to get it all together.  Some of us work, you know!  ;D

4. Have fun.  If you need help, PM me anytime...or someone that's done it before will be happy to help you out.
