Have you ever posted something in a thread that you thought was your best post ever.... only to find that days later NO ONE has replied?

This used to happen to me a lot a while ago. I know there were circumstances that surrounded why this would happen, but it still struck me as odd. How could something I have said made every single person quite posting in that particular thread? ;D

Perhaps it is the crazy "Lead Moderator" title under my name, or because of past decisions that have had to be made, but I know that at one point I needed a medal with a great big K in the center of it for being the thread killer I was. Actually it sometimes happens still. I know I am not as articulate as some members here, shoot, sometimes I can't even form a sentence in the way that is normally acceptable. I love run-ons, conjunctions, comma-splices and incompletes. People either laugh at me and smite me, or give karma because they think I need some form of help. :D ;D

Shoot, no one really even likes me here. Y'all just pretend to so that you don't get a message from me saying "YOU'RE BANNED!!!!" Haha! That's why some of my posts still go unrecognized and unquoted, it's the fear of my avatar!!!! Don't y'all know you should be worshipping me instead of ignoring me??!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, that happens to me quite a bit too. I guess it's just the way it goes, and I'm sure no one does it intentionally. Sometimes it could just be coincidental bad timing, like if a barrage of threads get bumped or started after that, and yours gets buried or if alot of people aren't online when it's near the top and they miss your reply.

See with me I'm very analytical and I like to tell stories or compare things and stuff like that, so I sometimes have a hard time condensing my thoughts, so that could have something to do with it (not everyone wants to read a novel, lol). There's times I get bummed too like if I post a picture and it gets kinda passed over without any comments (I guess it feels like you just embarrased yourself), but that's life I guess. ;) So I try not to sweat it too much, it can be a little like "d*mn  I thought people were gonna like that post" and it slips into the graveyard, that kinda sucks.

So the other day I ate this big pot of chilli and man did I poop like crazy.  The smell nearly knocked me out and I swear to god the logs were atleast an inch thick.  I had to flush 6 times just to empty the toilet and that was while I was in the process of wiping.  And to top it off. I peed while I pooped, and it turned out to be constipation, so I had to squeeze doubly hard in order to clean out my system.

Nobody can kill a thread like I can.  NOBODY!! :D :D :D

dude, once i took a poop, and then but there were spies chasing me, right? and so they shot 13 bullets through the door but they thought that i pooped regular but i actually poop with my heels up on the toilet seat bowl, like a monkey, cuz i read somewhere that you just get better squeezin' action that way. it's, like, more natural.

so anyway, all thirteen bullets naturally struck the base of the toilet, then, right? they were apparently expecting to shoot my legs out from under me and then grab me as i fell to the bathroom floor. but as it turned out, they all dove in to the bathroom, but they dove low to the ground because that's where they expected me to be. because my ankles were supposed to be shot out, and stuff. but as it turns out they slid into the base of the toilet, which was all shot up like swiss cheese because of the aforementioned 13 bullets. and then when the one guy's head hit the weak base of the toilet, it crumbled and i fell down really hard on top of them, and it knocked them unconscious and i won. and one of them had a bottle of everclear and the other four had children that eventually the social services people let me adopt. so they're my little babies now.

Forum drama sucks, and serves only to exclude potential new members from signing up.  Who are these people, and why should I bother to get involved with them?

Twenty-page threads consisting of one-liners also suggests to potential new members that there's little to be gained from signing up.  So what do they do here, just try to maximize their own post counts?

And on a message board where the boards themselves are divided into decade-specific time periods, when a new user has the audacity to compare the pop culture of one ten-year time period against the pop culture of a previous or subsequent ten-year time period, well, that's also a pretty decent way to make sure that any casual browsers never sign up -- but in case any do, it gets rid of them in fairly short order.  Even if they leave muttering "Who the hell was DD, and why does everyone think every new user who compares ten-year time periods is him?"
