Think of the signs:
*Tolerance over peace (like say, condoning violent action just because people feel like doing it)
*Hypersexuality and promiscuity
*Cynicism and an obsession with death
*Teenage pregnancy becoming cool
*Money more valuable than inner happiness, love, and connectedness
*After all the evidence, a RESISTANCE and IGNORANCE of ecology
*Technology as a material good and not to improve life
*Marriage and romance is no longer valued
*Politeness is now seen as anal
*Popular culture is now almost exclusively appealing in base ways
*Sarah Palin ;D

Society has always been primitive, we just pretend it's civilised behaviour, lol. A good example is mating rituals. Men and women go in packs (if you see some blokes walking along the street on a Friday/Saturday night, you would be forgiven for thinking they are the missing link) to a meeting place (bars/clubs) wearing smart clothes (peacock feathers) to show off their dancing skills (so many animals boast their skills to attract a mate) so, when the right person comes along, they go home (sometimes not neccessary 8-P) to 'breed'.
Sounds like every other animal in the animal kingdom, lol.
