Written By: diofan on 07/11/08 at 12:58 am
Ever hear that killer MP3 from your Favorite band on Myspace, but couldn't figure out how to download it? well..."Uncle Diofan" is here to help. In this example I will give you the steps on how to download a song by Hoobastank.
Easiest way:
1: Go to the band's Myspace (in our example http://www.myspace.com/hoobastank
2: Copy the Myspace URL (Preferably the shorthand url ie. above sample)
3: Go to http://file2hd.com/
4: Copy the URL in the space provided
5: Check the box labeled "I have read and agree to the Terms of Service"
6: Check the file type in "Filter" (in this case Audio)
7: click the "Get Files" Button
8: next you will be provided a list of links, right click the link and select "Save link as"
VIOLA! You have it!

It's worked for me every time Dawg! Sometimes file2hd will list two versions:
High quality and low quality. High is the original file uploaded by the artist and sometimes not available, Low is the version you hear on their Myspace profile, and pretty much always available.

you can also get free downloads of mp3 recorders like polderbits from www.twocows.com
this freeby is limited for 14 days but you can get a "Keygen" from pirate bay or similar
That way any sound you can hear over the computer speakers is yours..It also converts LP or tape to MP3/Wave & you can set the bitrate...it has an editing feature you can get rid of record hiss & pops!~
I use it to record internet radio & separate out what I want.it uses the free space on the hard drive to copy but when your done editing it goes away when you close the player off (unless you save it)
with this type of recorder theres no need to use limewire or any download program & the beauty is no one knows you are doing it!No worse than owning a VCR or cassette deck!
Makes audio from youtube or similar :D :D :D

I use Download helper extension for Firefox to download Youtube videos. I would suspect you could using the MP3 method, I've never tried downloading videos with it though.

If you want to download videos from YouTube, I recommend http://www.keepvid.com
When you download videos via that site, they save to a FLV or MP4 file though, so you'd need a freeware program that can convert to a more common video file format. It sounds like a lengthy process, but it's not. I can download a YouTube video, and convert it to a WMV file in less than 5 minutes :)

the real beauty of the polderbits is you have a song loaded for conversion or just separating a track from the many is you don't have to listen to it in its entirety just zoom the cursor to the end of the track & mark "END"it takes only a few seconds to make a copy........Making audio from video you have to let the song run its course!Youtube doesn't have much in the way of extended versions....Seems to be AM radio versions!
Video takes up way too much gigs!.....You can make sound bites from movies & more!
