I'm wondering about that too.... whenever I see an animated gif image I often feel like I want to save it. Heck, I don't even know how to create one. :-\\

Edit: I bet that one took hours to create..

I just found it on photobucket.  I didn't do anything to it but save it to my album.

I once tried to animate my own graphic but it failed miserably.  :\'(

From what Alan told me it has to end in the .gif extension.

Animated gifs are easy to make, but ones like Patty posted would take super long and would require the proper programs to do

I can do basic animated GIFs, like molding scenes of a video clip into an image or adding borders, text, etc.  That stuff is easy as 1-2-3

I figured it might. Maybe I should take an introductory course in GIF animation or something! I took an introductory course in Dreamweaver last summer...maybe I could see about something for gif images! :D

Don't you need some special software or programs for that though?

I think all they have to do if you want to copy them os end in gif.

Was that course taught by Gary Wright? :D

Yep!  For the fancy graphics, you'd need expensive software.  For the basic ones like I do, cheap shareware/freeware programs do the trick :)

I have a program that comes bundled with Paint Shop Pro 5, called "Animation Shop".  It's fairly easy to use.  I just couldn't find a place to put my final graphic because it was too big (file size wise).  I was a bit ambition.  Back when we were making Howard graphics, I did a little Howard in his Superman Underoos changing into superman in a British phone booth.  I forgot exactly why I did it, but it went along with a thread topic we had long ago.

Now that I know photobucket might work, I'll see if I can get it to load there.

Speaking of Howard pictures, I think there was a "Many Faces Of Howard" thread from way back when... let's see if we can find it and dig it up. :D

Ok, I tried to tweak my animated Howard gif, but the program I used saved it as a movie with an extension of mng  which apparently photobucked won't save.  When I played it back in my software, the captions were kinda small to understand the whole point of the graphic.  :\'(

So maybe I'll try again someday to make anotehr gif.  Just not today.
