Subject: MTV Music Awards vs American Idol

Written By: wsmith4 on 03/25/08 at 9:12 am

Which is slated to become a classical stint?  I think American Idol represents far fewer theatrical traits than VMA's.  Far more memorable is that of a performance vs a contest but it's all a big old contest in the long and short of things, is it not?  I'd be willing to bet that within the next 20 or 30 years, neither show will be on the air anymore and they will both be replaced with something more "motown" or "downtown" in feel.  In fact, if I were to wager, I'd say that American Idol will soon be replaced by something more "motortown" or "debbietown" in feel.  Does anyone still watch VMA night when they're in New York?  Sure, it's lost its appeal for sure.
