Sunday 23rd December
After shutting down the computer for the last time. The family and I set out to Victoria Coach Station (London) for a long 8½ hour coach trip northward bound to Scotland. I took two books to read for the journeying and quiet moments, but never read either of them.
Monday 24th December
Arrived in Dumfries in the early hours. Stayed up chatting till around 5am. Slept but not for long, the morning was spent last minutes things and viewing the town.
Tuesday 25th December
Christmas Day, spent the day eating, and watching movies. Bed late.
Wednesday 26th December
Viewed the Sales from a safe distance, back to lodgings for more eating.
Thursday 27th December
Extra guests arrived and Kare-oke was the thing for the evening and the early hours.
Friday 28th December
The long journey back home, persistant rain in the Lake District and delays on the motorways did not help matters, again I could not read or sleep on the coach.
Movies watched:
Bridge to Terabithia (where was the happy ending?)
Surf's Up
E.T.
Hot Fuzz
The Bourne Ultimatum
I Am Legend
The remainder of the days has been taken up with flu, kindly given to me by my wife.

I wasn't sure. 8-1/2 hour bus trip to Scotland. that's a long ride. I've spent 8hrs on a train before.

My son had his phone with a radio attachment, we heard the pop charts heading north and coming back home, we had Beethoven's 9th on Radio3 (the boardcast of the Proms Concert we attended back in August 2007)

last year, i took a really long ride out to taunton in one of those with a nylon-string guitar and a fifth of jack stuffed in my bag. it was pretty sweet. pretty cool of them to let me sit around plunking on a guitar and getting faced on a bus, doesnt sound like it would be a good time but it was.

Coaches in the UK are so much better dude. You ever catch a greyhound, urgh! I thought I already knew the dregs of humanity but I was cruelly mistaken. Let's just say Tennessee ain't so pretty when the guy next to you keeps twitching and mumbling about the IRS.
