Two seperate programs I've watched recently had a segment where the person who had a certain problem had hypnotism and later credited that to the point where they turned tide; where they first started noticing real progress in what problem they had trouble getting rid of. 

Anyone been hypnotized?  What was your experience with it?  Would you do it again?

Oooooh, wow.....I've never been hypnotized, and I'm not sure if I want to be, either. I'd be too scared.  :-[

I watched an entire episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad yesterday (to hell with waiting for Christmas!), does that count?

for those of you in the US I suggest checking it out at ABC dot com.... it s the ep where they have to decorate a blank space the hypnosis is about 1/2 way in.... when its available on youtube I will post a link here.

Tried it twice, didn't work for me.

here's the episode. I think the scene I was talking about is within the first 20 minutes... its easily found its the couples all sitting on a couch with the host and the hypnotist sitting across from them

I did see that episode of Here Come the Newleyweds though.  Great show.

The only time I'm hypnotized is in these instances:

Michael Jackson is on.
Prince is shaking his booty.
Jimmy Sewart is on.

remember that Pat lady from the 80s she was like a famous hypnotist and had hbo specials and was always on the talk shows? I wanted to see if she could hypnotize me...

My mother was hypnotized to quit smoking twice.

The first time, it worked for a couple of years but she started again when my grandfather was in the hospital.

She went back to the same (Greene) seminar years later and they did it again free of charge.  She has not smoked in about 9 years  :)

Quite frankly, I'd be scared to get hypnotized because I'm afraid that someone would make do something stupid like act like a dog or run down the street naked or something.

No...no...no.

And I have no habits that warrant me needing hypnosis... ::) You know, unless you wanna call my adulation of Michael a bad habit. LOL.  ;)

If you call behavioral modification hypnotism I have.  Sort of a cross between hypnotism, behavioral modification and biofeedback.  It was to help with my PTSD.  It worked.

Same here, Frank. I think hypnotism is one of those you have to want to happen to you, I resisted too much and therefore didn't want it to work. I don't like the idea of anyone taking over my mind.
