Yes, Philip! I think we all got that the first time.  ::) :P ;)  But what exactly is a 'geek' .... and why do certain people aspire to 'geekdom' ?  ???




Here's one definition of a geek:

Dork: A person who, although also socially awkward, doesn't have the intelligence to fill the void with technical pursuits, like a nerd, and is forced to do mindless activities. Almost always alone. Usually with an XBox. Like playing Halo. All day. Every day. Not even understanding how the Xbox is making the pretty pictures on the screen. Very sad.

If you met me at a party, you would have no idea that I enjoy finite element analysis-based inviscid flow modelling using computational fluid dynamics. That's because I'm a geek.

Way to go IMHO ^ ^ ('Whistledog'/ Jason). I had a spell here as 'Doctor Fate' ... when I went into 'postwhore' mode for a month or so. Well, that's what it seems like. Anyhow, I found it to be a thoroughly addictive experience, so .... at least I can now appreciate where the posthwhores are coming from.

As far as climbing the boards goes ..... well, it's fun, but in the end .... it's just a very low number .... no matter where in the 800's we might be .... but I don't knock the guys for having a go.
