i'm editing a document and someone is referencing "7th Comm Bn USMC". does the "Comm" stand for "Communications," most likely? and what's the best way of spelling out those abbreviations long hand? could i spell out the "7th" or would that be a big no no?

Could be Command?
Usually you would spell out numbers less than 10 in a text but in this context I'm not sure that you do.

i thought "command" (command battalion sounds super cool! 8) communications battalion doesn't sound as cool but much more practical -- i get google hits on "communications battalion" but not "command battalion." i should probably just give mushroom my job, he'd be much better at it. :P

Actually I think you're right about it being Communications. I did some googling around after I posted. All the docs I found gave it as 7th comm bn or 6th or 9th etc.

first thing i thought was “7th cumming,” but then again, last night i was reading some dirty british smut from the victorian era (i swear i had a good reason!) and it sorta got a bit shall we say “rough trade” at one point :-[ so maybe i just happen to have that sort of thing on the brain right now.

in that story they repeatedly described the male issue as "foamy" or "frothy." wtf???? i’d like to say to all the gents reading this -- if your joy juice is foamy or frothy, seek medical attention immediately.

I'm not Mushroom (nor do I play one on t.v.) but Comm does stand for Communication. I used to work at the "Comm center" many, many MANY moons ago.
