How do you have your porridge?
Contestants have gathered in the Highlands for the annual world porridge making championships.
A dozen cooks have headed to Carrbridge, in Strathspey, for the annual contest to see who can make the finest bowl of the oatmeal dish.
Judges will mark the entrants on their porridge's appearance, consistency and taste, before deciding on a champion.
The winner will be awarded the coveted Golden Spurtle, won last year by Army Sergeant Coleen Hayward MacLeod.
A spokesman for the competition's sponsor's, Hamlyn's Oats of Scotland, said contestants had travelled to Carrbridge from all over the UK.
He added: "It is a unique competition, and people take it very seriously."
Sgt MacLeod, originally from Stornoway in the Western Isles, has served in the armed forces for more than 18 years.
She has been responsible for making porridge on a daily basis for hundreds of soldiers from the 1st Royal Irish Regiment at Fort George, near Inverness.
