I am back after a fews days off.

I have a complete rest from any form of I.T. and with a stay with friends, with a day at the seaside at Southend-on-Sea. You try and park a car near to the seafront on at a Bank Holiday Weekend. Sorry that no decent pictures were taken.

I just relaxed and watched television.

Business now back as usual.

I tried.  "Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours."

Yes .. for what it was worth. I was down at Coogee Beach, which is one of the nicer suburban beaches, just about 30 mins from the Sydney CBD. Nothing like Southend .. which is chock full of pebbles, from what I remember. This is really nice sand.

Anyhow, the moon was very high in the sky, and quite small. They reckoned it was to glow a bright red ... but maybe it was the city lights /background lighting drowning it out? For me though, it was very anti-climactic, though the media made a big deal out of it. It was the same for Halleys comet, back in '86. Overrated, for what most people saw.

I should mention for our American friends on this site .. that when I boarded the bus home .... I was about the only non American on this particular bus back home. Seemed to me like the States had just moved here. There's a University not too far away, so I imagine a lot of them are going there. Anyhow, most of them would probably have been late teens/ early 20's. They got on the bus with open liquor ... which is prohibited ... but the driver either turned a blind eye ... or just didn't notice.  Around eighty per cent guys,  but there were some really REALLY hot hot hot looking women there too. It was like a party on board. Maybe 40  passengers?

Man ... you can certainly tell when there are Americans around ........ that noise volume / the chatter .....

Well, we Aussies/Brits are a lot more inhibited by comparison, I must say! Personally .... I love it! The American way, that is!

Incidentally, George W. is due in town in about a week for an APEC summit. It's gonna be a security nightmare, and a lot of disruption for the locals ....

We had one grudge... The Seafront Illuminations were up on the lampposts etc, but not lit up at night. We wondered if it was Council cutback, but since coming home, online I have discovered that "The Southend Seafront Illuminations & Business Association (SSIBA) have had to accept that even with the continuing support from Southend Borough Council, they can no longer support the ageing existing Illuminations which suffered significant storm damage in January 2007 and uses an unreliable 240 volt system. They are not creating the right image for the town, and so the Illuminations will be taken down this year."

My hubby has a friend that is supposed to be moving there sometime next year.  He's already made two trips there.  Should we ever get over there to visit his friend, maybe you, me & the hubby can make arrangements to do dinner or something.

Well, that would be neat .... assuming I'm still here. I could end up moving back to the UK. Don't know/ still deciding. My mother isn't getting any younger ... and I kind of feel I should be nearer to her. Some ongoing personal turmoil for me there ... which I expect to resolve sometime within the next century!
