Dolly Parton.  I am not a huge aficionado of country music (I tolerate most of it for my husband's sake)....but there is something about Dolly that just warms my spirit.  I love her music, I love the movies that she's been in (9 to 5 is one of my favorites), she seems like such a wonderful woman. I would love to meet her someday.

Off topic, but I think Nine To Five kinda jumpstarted the glamourization of women in the workplace, which seemed to be a common theme in the '80s. Like I get the impression that was the first time where going to work wasn't perceived merely as something you had to do to pay the bills, but it was fun too (of course, the boss in that movie got what was coming to him as well, lol).



For me, I like so much across the board anyway, so it's hard to say. Maybe some of Britney Spears c. 1999 music. ;D

-2 N'Sync songs from 1998: I Want You Back and Tearin Up My Heart because they just take me back noglastia wise.

-The Soap Opera "All My Children" in the mid 90's and also liked watching "Days Of Our Live's" and "All My Children" in the early 00's too.

-"Woops" who is a poster on these boards would love this: I;m actually a fan of Debbie Gibson's 1989 hit "Lost In Your Eyes": that was a good song even though it was Debbie Gibson.

-Some Hair Metal Songs: I don;t care what anybody says but "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison was a great song all around as was "Rock You Like A Hurricane and "Wind Of Change" by Scorpions.

-Sometimes I enjoy listening to "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne.

I'm not a big overall fan, but I do like her song "You Were Meant For Me". I think she was a part of the accoustic, semi Lilith Fair-type pop which also included Sarah McLaughlin and Paula Cole which was centrally popular in, like 1995-'97. Although she kinda moved on with songs like "Intuition", which were okay too.
