Well folks, I finally broke down and bought some art for my office.

I got an original acrylic painting that was painted by Cheeta, the chimp who used to be in the old Tarzan movies.  The money goes to protect captive primates.  8)

Cheeta is 77 years old and the world's oldest known living chimp.  :)

I bet his paintings look better than most things they're calling art.  ;D

I have a few paintings a bought a while ago.. this place in town that sold art was moving, so they had a re-locating sale. I got:

1. This Escher painting whos name I don't know.. it's off a water mill-type thing where the water flows uphill at one point.. one of those impossible things.
2. The Persistence of Memory (The Dali painting with the melting clocks)
3. A Friend In Need (the painting with the dogs playing poker, the two dogs in the front are cheating)
4. Master Bedroom (painting of a yellow lab sleeping on a bed)

The first three are hanging in my room... last one is in our hallway, next to some picture my mom bought of a house at nightfall during the winter.

Thank god it wasn't a Picasso!

Wow!!!  Cheeta is alive!!!  I would never have thought.  Glad he is doing well.  :)

  I used to have one with the poker playing dogs.  Maybe Danoota had the same one.  And yes, that painting has been outlawed in most states, I think...

Some of Cheeta's artwork look pretty cool. We have a bunch of paintings hung around the house that was done by Carlos. They are quite good-but since I have known him, he has not picked up a paintbrush-unless it was to paint a room.  :-\\  We also have some artwork that his kids have done. I also bought two painting when I was in Greece. One is a BIG one of a waterfall and the other is of the Acropolis. We also have a painting of a sailboat that we bought at an auction last year (it is not signed) and a portrait of Carlos' grandmother.
