Aw Tam - what a great idea for a thread.  You should be so proud of your son, your husband, and yourself.  I can't imagine what you must go through every single day.  You really are such a great example of courage to the rest of us.  I know I'm not the only one on the board who thinks about your family, and just wishes that your husband could come home.  Thank YOU for making us realize that the petty little things in our lives are just that - petty.  Thank you for always keeping your chin up, no matter how hard it must be, and for being a friend to everyone.  You are truly a remarkable person.

This thread is getting along quite nicely.
I did it because sometimes just sending a pm to say thank you isn't always as satisfying as when you put it out there for other people to read too.


My next Thank You is for every single person who has ever said kind words to me in regards to hubby's Deployment. I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart.

Secondly, like Mike, I want to Thank everyone who sent Christmas cards - to hubby and other soldiers in Iraq.
Every single card brightened their day - even though they know not who you are, it was truly appreciated by all of them.
You warmed my heart and reassured me that even though there are protests, some people still support our Military and their families.
A special Thank You goes to Kim. Girl, having your sons troop send all those cards and all the boxes with personal hygiene things in them - you my friend are a true blessing! I thank you form the bottom of my heart!!!

And, I can tell you that if you are interested, you will be able to send them cards again this Christmas, as the Extension has affected them, so they will be spending a second Christmas in Iraq.

side note: I have finally received a really good disc with pictures! I have to go through them because some can be shared and some can't. Once I do - I will post them on the photo board for those interested!

I want to thank all of you who said such kind words when I posted about feeling sad on the 2 year anniversary of my mother's death.  It meant so much to me, thank you.  :)

I am relatively new here and like many of you found this wonderful site by a happy piece of luck.

I obviously haven't been here long enough to know everyone's history, story, etc., and I'm working on "real" names  ;)

But, having said that, there are people to thank....

Whistledog for being the first one to answer the original question that brought me to this wonderful site (I love the description of it as a coffee house).  I was a little worried that I would be laughed at for not knowing the answer--or asking the question in the first place--but that was obviously not the case.

DJ Midas aka Patrick for all the useful information on Phoenix.

But I also want to thank ALL of you who have welcomed me with open flippers.  You have all been the epitome of graciousness and hospitality, showing kindness and understanding when it was more than obvious just how new I was.  I really appreciate it.  I'm really beginning to feel like I am making wonderful new friends....which will be very helpful when my one and only moves out to go to college--you will undoubtedly see me on here much more when that time comes.

That's cool.  I get mostly early hours, which I prefer.  I dread the days I am scheduled late but am thankful that they are mostly early ones.  I feel good knowing that I have a vacation in 2 weeks!
