I can see what you mean about the strangely attractive thread's annoyance, even though I've contrbiuted to it myself. I think a better title might be "celebs we're attracted to that other people might not be".

The only threads that grate on my nerves sometimes are the ones like What Song Are You Listening To, Last Thing You Ate, etc. Nothing wrong with them per se, but they don't really serve much of a purpose and are just an accumulation of pre-arranged words. At least with, say LTE its about random off-topic stuff.

But, to draw a parallel with the decadeology that you mentioned, I just avoid those threads as opposed to taking cheap shots at the people who enjoy them. I wish more people could have the maturity to do that, but oh well.
