Subject: Unusual 'back-scratchers'...
Written By: CeramicsFanatic on 03/06/07 at 4:19 pm
It's happened to all of us...that persistent itch that occurs right in the center of our backs that we can't reach (and there's nobody around to scratch it for us)...
What are some of the unusual things you've used to take care of it?
I have a Japanese letter-opener that looks like a little Samurai sword...and it works perfectly as a back-scratcher! :D

The handle of a comb, a pen, hair sticks (they look like chopsticks, but you use them to put your hair up)

I can use my own hands actually. I look kinda dumb, but I can work it out somehow, lol.

I live in an old house, so I just use the corners of a doorway.....works great and if I'm not at home whatever is handy....a hairbrush, comb, ink pen, you name it

That's one of my methods, I sort of look like you're avatar. ;D
I also use the back of a hammer, a crowbar a tree branch or just about anything.

Funny, I was thinking about this last night as my back itched. ;D
I used a pen then. Sometimes I can reach it with my hands. Other times it's a pen, scissors, lighter, Missing Linkā¢ game...whatever's nearby that'll do the trick.

I have used just about anything: a pen, comb, fork, doorframe....but, like Rice & hot stuff, I can still reach all of my body.....I use other things when my nails just aren't getting the job done. I found these awesome bamboo back scratchers at Pier 1 that I got for my mom. She accidentally stepped on one and she found some more online so she bought 12 :o ;D

I'll use anything. the most dangerous thing I've used is a steak knife, but it's no big deal, you just have to go slow and be careful. I do have a back scratcher which i got about 10 years ago at MarineWorld theme park. it's a little red monkey and he has both hands out and you use his hands/fingers to scratch. it's excellent.

I knew this guy who went into an Asian goods store because he wanted one of those sticks you use with I Ching-looks something like this:

So he asked for I Ching sticks (pronouced E Ching). After awhile of trying to explain what he wanted, the guy finally understood and went into the back room only to return with a back scratcher. ;D ;D
