Subject: What Did Or Are You Going To Do Today - March

Well....sometimes the blinker blinks normally, but most of the time it lights up but doesn't blink. Also, the back tail light on the right side, which is the one we changed this summer, is dim and this is the same side that we are having the blinker problem.
If you have the manual, it probably says what blinker behavior to expect when it's going out.

Went to my friends house after work, ate pizza and made plans to book a weekend in Las Vegas. Came home and smelled what i thought was gas in the house, & ended up calling the gas/electric company to come check it out. I had a superb technician come out and checked for leaks and actually found one in our central heater. A screw had come loose and was leaking a little natural gas. not enough to kill us or blow up the house, but it smelled. He fixed it & all is well now.

Going to Blockbuster to rent the kids some movies. My daughter is sick and home from school until Monday...she's driving me nuts. :o She is walking around the house saying "I'm bored" and I look at all the toys and crap and wonder how in the world can this kid be bored?

I cut my own bangs,they don't look too bad, but at least they are out of my eyes. I hate paying a shop $15 to just trim my bangs.
I'm waiting to hear how much the garage wants to charge to fix my car. The place that towed it got BAD reviews on the internet and I called my hubby to tell him that, he said he'd keep his eyes open, so geez....I'm hoping it turns out alright.

Spent yesterday at home with Dai. Completely unneccesary really. The hospital made it sound like he'd be at deaths door after his general anaesthetic whereas in reality he was doing some DIY ::)

I also took the car in to be serviced. £653 they quoted me to do all the work. :o When i went to collect it they'd knocked a bit off the bill for having all the work done at that time. I'm annoyed with it. I was charged £11 for them to adjust the handbrake and it's so over adjusted it takes me both hands pulling hard to get the brake to engage.

Today I am headed out to Chuckie Country(the Worcester area) to the Special Olympics. Jake is on a basketball team and they will play today and tomorrow. He is the center and leading team scorer, but alas, the team is called the Celtics and rightfully so. They have a good time though, and there is a dance and all that so it will be fun. :)

Today: Tuned up The Boy's truck-- new spark plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, gas filter. Put his driver's
side window back on it's track and replaced a bad blower motor. I hope he was watching real good because

Today I returned home from the religious education conference I went to in Anaheim. It actually goes on all weekend (ending tomorrow night), but we only intended to stay for (I guess) half of it. It was fun to go there; I attended a couple of workshops and helped out in other regards.

we went out to dinner with friends, it was really good and darn that Diane, she told the waitress we were there for me & my friends birthday so after dinner the waitresses and waiters came over and sang a dorky happy birthday song, but we got free sundaes, so that was cool. came home and got to open a couple of presents and had carrot cake and played some cards and listened to music.

Spent the weekend in Worcester at the Special Olympics, Jake is on a basketball time and they got 4 for 4(unfortunately on the losing end), but they played a good game, and while out there we stopped at a couple of diners for meals, Sig is a diner afficiando, so a good time was had by all :)

I spent the day redecorating my den/sitting room. I painted all day long!!!

It had a light olive green paint and brick red drapes and area rug.
Now the walls are a light 'mineral' blue with striped blue and cocoa colored curtains and a brown and blue area rug. I LOVE IT!! I feel like I'm at a beach house.

I'll be fixing taco salads in a little while and after dinner I'm going to take a shower and hit the sack. I'm worn out!!

Sorry for being so nally-ish, but- Are you talking about Logan's Roadhouse? The restaurant where you can throw peanut shells on the floor? Neat place, but I'm not too fond of their food. I usually get some boneless chicken thing, but I have to tell them to take off the pineapple (pineapple+chicken=gross.) Sometimes they take it off, sometimes they don't. And Davey, don't misconstrue that as a sexual innuendo!! XD

I brought my daughters to Login's Roadhouse for dinner. I'm getting more and more displeased with that place everytime I go. Today they put lemon pepper on my filet mignon. ::) Who.....puts lemon pepper on a filet?
geez, why would they wanna go and ruin a perfect cut of meat like that. some chefs are trying to be too creative.

went to church today, picked up some burritos from the taqueria on the way home and had lunch. After that I mowed and edged my front lawn. Took Julies car to get gas and a car wash for her. then went out to pick up some pizza for dinner, came home and watched a little tv and paid some bills with Lady Di and now it's playtime.

Ha! My boyfriend was telling me about when he used to do that! And sometimes he would go to a certain restaurant just because of their bottles of hot sauce. He'd go, eat, ditch the place, and take their damn hot sauce.

Thanks. I would have called him this morning but he is spending his birthday getting an MRI on his foot. Someone stepped on it last week. It was fine until later that evening and started swelling. X-rays didn't show anything. So I am going to call him tonight to A. wish him a happy birthday and B. to find out what the MRI revealled. I know, what a way to spend your birthday.

Greyhound isn't that bad for short trips. I used to take that to go see Rice when we were dating.

Amtrak is fun. Takes awhile, but going by train you can see a lot of stuff you wouldn't see by car. :)

I've got a big trip coming up.

New York to D.C. Then I'll drive over to St. Louis and then St. Louis to Chicago and Chicago to New York. All Amtrack apart from the D.C - STL leg.

Not even 12. On the way down to Florida a few years ago, I made St. Louis to Atlanta in less than 8 hours and you can get to Chicago from St. Louis in about 3 and a half hours at a push. But Chicago straight to Atlanta, you'd cut out almost all of Illinois and just go straight through Indiana. 10.. 10 and a half.

Chicago to NY is only about 13 hours. It's roughly the same distance from Atlanta to Chicago, and you don't go near the Canadian border. I-90 to I-80 to I-95. Easy as pie.

According to Amtrack that's how long it takes. .. and trains don't always go faster, depends how good the track is. Plus they go to a bunch of places.

I was on Amtrak in December (Martinez, CA - Reno, NV), long trip, too, but since it's scenic during that time of the year, it seemed to go fast anyway. I think it took 7 hours, where as if you were driving, it only would take a few hours.

They do, but there are so many stops and slow downs (some states/towns have laws that the train has to slow to a snail's pace), it takes almost twice as long as it would in a car. I took one from Dallas-Joliet and it took 26 hours....I can make it in 14 in a car ;)

I went out for pizza after work, It was a meeting to sign the roster for my softball team. Came home and was happy to see that FedEx delivered my stereo stand/cabinet so I'll put it together tomorrow night. I saw mouse droppings in the garage >:( >:( and then I caught a glimpse of the little rodent darting away. I quickly set a mouse trap at 10pm, with a bit of ritz cracker topped with a drop of peanut butter. I swear, that was the quickest catch ever, less than an hour and I heard the trap snap, I went out and I got the little bastard by the head! a confirmed kill. I hope he was a loner, a rogue and that there are no more.

There was nothing worse than opening a cabinet and seeing a little mouse stuck in those things pleading with his eyes for you to get him out of there. yes, the humane ones with the glue strips that don't kill the mice are worse. and if you managed to catch one live, you don't wanna just take it outside and let it go because it wil find it's way back in., The snap traps are extremely quick, there is no suffering in every case I've had, the lad stuck his head in to get the bait, the trap closes shut on him and the lights just go out. it's so quick, they never know what hit them. After we caught the mouse, George would take it outside and step on it's head...pretty gross.

I bought a digitial camera.. a good one, back when digital cameras were still expensive. It vanished during a move.. then I found it again about a year and a bit ago, then it vanished again.. hopefully I'll hold on to this one.

I booked my airplane tickets this morning/afternoon.. I forget when.

However, the best part of the day was in the grocery store when some old slavic woman called me evil. ;D

I'm walking around the corner and she practically body checks me in to the wall of the aisle.. I'm like "What the hell was that?" Anyway, apparently she wanted something and I happend to walk past at the same time.. I have no idea why she felt assaulting the shelves would get her the item.. anyhow, she fell over, I pretty much just regarded her with disgust and she mumbled some crap and said I was evil. I was pretty pleased with myself.

I hate old people, especially those who attack produce I might be contemplating purchasing.

I bought a digitial camera.. a good one, back when digital cameras were still expensive. It vanished during a move.. then I found it again about a year and a bit ago, then it vanished again.. hopefully I'll hold on to this one.

So, we went all night bowling with Chris' brother (that is home on visit from Iraq), his sister, and 2 brother-in-laws.....it was from 11:30 to 2:30 am....I had myself some Smirnoff Ice bottles....was feeling pretty good! Then we stopped at Sheetz and went to their coffee bar...for a mocha....now I am wide awake. I'm experimenting tonight. I bought duck at the store yesterday. Never cooked duck, but I love it.. so.. in theory, it should be good as long as I don't screw up.

I had a bunch of things to do, but I'll wait until my man Pete gets back from London on Monday, I kinda need some help with them and he's the most helpful guy I know.

Apart from that, I'll take the dogs for a walk, probably finish tacking down the new carpet in the new attic/studio dealy I made and nap frequently.

last night was great. we had this last minute gig playing at a party- the people loved it and all took biz cards...AND we got a HUGE tip from the guy..AND the hotel that hosted the party loved it and wanted us to come out to play at the lounge there.

Just do what I used to do....go on Saturday night so you didn't have to get up at the crack of ass the next morning. Then you've got all of Sunday free to do what you want and you can go shopping without the masses of people in there because they're still in church.

Some religions, especially the Baptists don't have Saturday night service. However they do have Wednesday night, Sunday morning and Sunday night worship. They might as well throw in a Saturday service. :D

So...Chris and I were gonna go out to dinner tonight. We started out at this great Italian place..but the crowd was out the door, and we were on a schedule. So, we go to this place right near it, that we also frequent. I did that once for Diane & Julie, they came home complaining about Chevys, so I called the manager, and told him I was not calling hoping he'd dish out a freebie to make up for it, but that he needed to be aware of the poor service and that we may not return because of it. He insisted on buying them dinner next time .

I finally got my new license (was going to go the other day but I farted around here too long and it got too late.). Took my son to school. My daughter and I went IHOP (she's out of school because she was sick but felt much better this morning.) We rented a bunch of movies and for every new release we rented we got to rent an older movie for free.

Today I went to class and learned about the circulatory system. We mainly focused on the anatomy of vessels and stuff. It was a good class, but I did not sleep well last night *very restless* so by the time it ended, I could hardly stop yawning. I swear, I almost fell asleep. I was sitting next to a boy who noticed I was in the same Nutrition class, so he asked if I had some papers from that class because his were lost. I told him I did and I could make copies for him.

I am at work now, wrapping the day up at 6pm. :)

I am at work now - same old same old. My husband had LASIK eye surgery yesterday. It is amazing! He could see perfectly within seconds, and the entire surgery took about two minutes...literally. His eyes hurt a little, but other than that it went really well. So cool.

Well, he's giving us the questions beforehand, but it's not really a "takehome" test (but we DO get a crib sheet so I don't know why he doesn't just make it "take home")......AND, some of them are on a novel we're not going to be able to discuss before the test (unless we can get through both Wuthering Heights AND Great Expectations in 3 75 minute classes - doubt it) I don't think I've ever seen more convoluted questions....I'll PM one to you ::)

I had that a few years ago, but my eyes were so bad, they never got back to 20/20. I'm thrilled to just be able to see the alarm clock in the morning with no glasses ;D Just make sure he uses the drops as directed and wears sunglasses outside (even if it's not really sunny).

Mostly around the lake and the University :) Go too far in any direction (even a couple blocks!) and it gets ubersketchy.

My friend was getting off the Green Line on 63rd St which is less than six blocks from the heart of the U, and had some little black girl tell him, "Man, you in the WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG neighborhood." Sad.

So now I joke with him, "You sure you in the right neighborhood, you cracka ass cracka?" :D :D

It actually runs behind the condo. You can see it from the one we're considering, BUT.....the insulation and windows are so good in there, that you can't hear it and nothing rattles. It's awesome.

I went to lab today and spent about 3 1/2 hours on the circulatory system and still didn't do that great on the post tests. I have one more post test I can take, and then I'll have to settle with the best of the three. Right now I'm at my mom's taking a break, but then we're going to take her car to get smogged and have some dinner and then we'll return and then I'll be going home from that point.

Took the kids to the mall, got my daughter a few outfits, shoes and a haircut, my son got a few outfits and a toy, we had Chinese food for lunch and frozen yogurt.

Later I'll fix tacos for dinner and watch a movie or two.

went to Julie's performance at her school tonight, and they were great. There's about 30 kids in the singing group called Story & Song and they held their "Cabaret night" where they sing 3 songs, serve 1st dessert cheesecake, then 2-3 more songs, and 2nd dessert ice cream, and then they had a Pro, formerly from San Francisco's Beach Blanket Babylon sing 2 songs and she's so good. then the 3rd and final dessert course creme puffs, and more songs. Their set included:
Burning Love - Elvis
Going To The Chapel
One Fine Day - The Chiffons
Hit The Road Jack
a song from Avenue Q
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
It's In His Kiss (shoop shoop song)
and a few others. the kids in the group served the desserts and coffee & tea. It was a joyful occasion :)

My nephew has to stay after school today and she works late, and we can't let the little bugger stay in the house all day. After that I am taking my grandma to the airport to pick up my great aunt. She lives in New Mexico, but visits for a couple of weeks every March. They are so funny together - it will be great to see her.

I hate to be picky but the #7 position is Left Field, having been a Left Fielder for many years until switching to the #4 position 2nd Base, and then being converted to my current position for the last 12 years, the #6 position. Shortstop. My buddy tonight who gave me my shirt said "I've got you penciled in at Shortstop again this year Mike", and I'm like "dude, I'm 51 frikken years old" :o play me in any position you want, don't feel like you have to keep me there if you want someone else there, and he said, nope, it's you. I better get my ass in better shape quick :o this image looks to me like it has 3rd base as the #6 pos which isn't correct. 3rd base is the 5 pos. & SS is 6, just in case it doesn't appear right, because it doesn't look clear to me.

7 is left, 9 is right. I was 1, 2, or 3.....I don't remember actually EVER playing outfield when I played umpteen years ago :-\\

It's easier than I thought. The mom who kept score for the fall league 2 years ago used to keep track of EVERYTHING and that's what was confusing me because I knew her sheets had a bunch of stuff on them and others I've seen only had the basics. I think I've got a fairly good grasp of it....

Both kiddos are at school, so I've spent the morning on the computer. I'll be picking up my son in a little while, then I need to head over to the pet store to see if I can find a solution to my daughter's snail problem in her fish tank. We started out with 1 snail and now we have tons. They just keep reproducing.

I hope that by this afternoon the workers will have the water running in the new bathtub, if they do I plan on taking a long relaxing soak in the whirlpool.
When we got our fish tank, I asked the guy if he recommended snails or pleicostomus (sp?) and he said the latter because (his words, not mine): "snails are like rabbits, you start out with 1 and end up with 20" ;D :D

Regular exams were during the scheduled class period and that's all the time you got. If you couldn't finish in time, oh well. The teachers didn't give anyone, unless they had physical or mental disabilities, special treatment.

For me, it depends on what kind of exam it is. Especially if it's an essay question. I often do my best when I don't rush through it.

I always rushed through essay questions and got good grades on them. I made sure I read the question well and made an outline of what I wanted to say.....but that took like, 15 minutes. I was done in about another half-hour.

The last tetanus shot I got, the nurse didn't get the needle in completely, and when she pulled the needle out, this massive stream of blood ran down my arm and into the palm of my hand. I was so completely squicked out, that I wouldn't get another booster shot until it was absolutely medically necessary.

arriving home after work, I went to work. laundry, washed dishes, made some turkey burgers, mixed tuna and mayo & pickles for sandwiches to have for lunches. disposed of some old leftovers from the fridge, threw out old chips & crackers from cupboard. and am now relaxing with another diet coke, reading some threads, and posting in some.

For me, it depends on what kind of exam it is. Especially if it's an essay question. I often do my best when I don't rush through it.

Yeah, if it's a multiple choice test,I can usually whip right through them (if I really know the answers). If it's essay, I dissect them very carefully. I once had a test in my History class that was 15 pages long and it was all written. This was our final, but our mid-term was also like this. That class literally made me have a near aneurysm.

This morning I was out running a few errands and needed a cup of tea for refreshment. So for inspiration I went to McDonalds, just for a cuppa, no food. The manageress who serve must had got out the bed the wrong side this morning, she just had a smile on her face. But later on, she was in the kitchen area asking a member of staff how many certain burgers are there in stock in the kitchen area. Got hopelessly lost.

A buddy of mine here in town got a new car a few weeks ago.

It's one of those Mercedes S Class deals.. this thing is SWEET! It must have cost more than everything I've ever owned.. period. Anyhow, so I take this thing out, and I wanna take it out in the country, which isn't too hard down here, so I do.. I'm throwing this thing around bends, seeing what kinda acceleration it's got.. when we both realize that neither of us have any idea where we are.

It took the best part of an hour to find Scott Air Force base.. from there it's about 20 miles back to town.. must have gone a hell of a long ways out of the way. ;D

Another day in Paradise ::) , at the East Boston waterfront digging dirt for the new condos that will be going up. They are not concerned with speed, actually are almost encouraging us to slow down, since they aren't in any particular hurry because of the situation with home sales around here, which is abysmal. They would rather we take are time building so that they don't have a huge condo complex sitting around empty, like a lot of the other new ones that are around.

Up at 5:30. Took my daughter to school, ran to Walmart for some hair care stuff, back to school for "Door Duty" and lunch with my daughter. I could be wrong.. and I could not know the facts.. but I've accidentally seen people naked before.. should I pay? Or was this not an accidental deal, more some peeping going on?

Apparently this guy just walked into her apartment without prior notice or consent. I saw her say that she thinks he must think because she's a tenant she has no rights/privacy, so I'm assuming this is landlord or a realtor...something along those lines.

I should be saying that we won our opening night softball game, but opening day got rained out :\'( oh well, last year opening day & the 5 consecutive weeks that followed were rained out. We'll play next Monday & also on Wednesday nights. I'm you. Not only it is it an invasion of the right to privacy, but we can't sit back and allow it to become a habit where anyone can feel they can walk into the abode of a person without notice. It is a dangerous proposition. Who knows what Ted Bundys out there would love to feel that they had that kind of power.

I agree. Most landlords/agencies give you a warning when they'll be showing your place. They don't just barge in and then tell you that you have no rights when you complain. Sorry, but paying rent INSURES your rights to privacy, unless you're loud and obnoxious, which spaceace isn't. :)

This kind of stuff does happen all the time and landlords have always assumed the could get away with it. Sorry, I don't buy that. It was never about the money. It was the fact that they CANNOT do this to me and get away with it.

Actually, yes there was harm done. If you know anything about PTSD and sexual trauma you'd figure out why I was so effected. BTW, bonding and insurance would easily cover the $50,000, so no they're lives aren't ruined.

There are lots of landlords who would get cheap thrills walking into tenants apartments(especially those of young women) if they thought they could get away with it. I am glad you are teaching this guy a lesson, and seriously speaking the only lesson some people learn is the lesson attached to their wallets. ;)

worked all day, quite busy today, no time to be here, but I'm here now. After work I bought a nice blank greeting card & wrote a letter to Julie, the school asked the parents to write letters to our kids/kid, the soon to be graduating Seniors, expressing our thoughts on their High School experience and how we feel about them entering adulthood/college. It was hard & it took a lot out of me, but I think I wrote down some good stuff for her, about her & I hope she reads it. ;D

Good luck with that. When my mom's died, it was going to be more to fix it than buy a new one so we got her a new one.

I hope it does ^ we had one of those long discussions Sunday night, a long one yikes :o but after being a diplomat and working out a peace treaty we are flying united once again. Now did I say I was a diplomat or doormat ??? no biggee, you just continue talking and hopefully things will work out.

Me and Boston painted his house and then his wife got home and made me a cake.. I'm kinda seeing the advantages of having one of those around the house. ;D
