Subject: Dream House

If you could build your dream house (no limit on time or money) where would it be and what would it look like?

I'm not sure, could I have 2? ;D

I would love a mountain retreat, lots of wood and rustic looking but with all of the luxuries.  Fireplace, master suite with a huge tub.  Big windows and porches.  Surrounded by trees and next to a lake.

or

A beach getaway, light and airy.  Tons of windows and a wrap-around porch. Lush tropical plants and a walkway to the beach, private dock.  Beachy-tropical colors, blues and turquoise.

I don't want a house. I want a penthouse apartment in Manhattan, overlooking the river.  If not, I want an apartment with a terrace overlooking Central Park.  All amenities must be included.

East.

Cancerous.

I'd want a house by the beach. Down south, where it's nice and warm.
Maybe in the US, maybe not. Maybe in the South of France. I like the med.

I'd wouldn't want it to be huge, I'm too lazy to walk a mile to the kitchen, but with a pool for when the sea was cold and a room for the dog.

Shall we play a game?

Who says the house has to be entirely above ground where you have to pay property tax on it, when you can use the land for something practical, like a small private airstrip?

Hmmm!

I'd like a 4 bedroom house with a place in the back that I can turn into a turf field or ice rink or basketball court or a whiffle-ball field...plenty of space to set up a fairly sizeable baseball or soccer game...large enough yard that I can justify using a riding mower :D

Big game room too, yeah.  And a firepole like in Ghostbusters.

A river or brook in the back with some Japanese style bridge, and some woods to play paintball in.  Then a spot to set up a campsite too.

It would probably have to be in North Carolina.

I want a little cabin by Shasta Lake. Kitchen and bathroom need to be decent, though.

This is what I would want - similar to Tiger Wood's home in Barbados, except I'd want to live in St. Martin instead.  An eternity pool would be essential.

My dream house would be a HUGE old house that would be renovated. I'd like for each room to have a theme (of course the kitchen being a retro diner). I would love for it to have secret passageways, and a neat circular room.  A huge flower garden out back and an inground swimming pool would be fabulous.
