New Years Eve plans. Every year our friends come over, we all put together a nice spread of food, maybe appetizers and drinks, then play a couple of board games, usually girls against the guys, then we watch the countdown, blow some horns and noisemakers and pop a cork or 2, and we'll play Auld lang Syne, everyone tries to kiss everyone  :o  and then I put on the first dance song of the year and try to get everyone to kick up their heels and dance. going out on amateur night. I will stay home, I haven't had a drop of alcohol in 6 1/2 years so
there is no reason to be out amongst the amateurs. I'll stay where it's safe.

so that night out with friends that i talked about earlier, it was last night, not for New year's eve.
so we went out last night and now i'll be home tonight.

New Year's Eve = Amateur Night

A great deal of people who do not normally go out are making plans for the one night they do.
New Year's Eve is one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. Inexperienced drinkers will
start off fast and heavy, these same inexperienced drinkers will be the ones driving home at 1:am
thinking that accidents and arrest only happen to other people, hence the term "amateur night."

Believe me, it is not a criticism on those who can go out and have a good time and know how to control
themselves and the situation. Unfortunately, there are far to many who cannot.

Not too sure how our plans will pan out. They are calling for freezing rain tonight. We may have to leave the party earlier (if we make it at all-because Carlos is having some stomach problems). So, we are playing everything by ear.

We had to cancel our plans.  My husband and I were both sick all day yesterday and he is still sick today.  I am feeling better, thank goodness, but he is still feeling rotten.  So we will stay home by ourselves and I will play nurse maid.

Gearing up for The Pheasant Club's NYE Bash...

Yes, I'm doing the karaoke thing, but not JUST that.

I will be throwing karaoke, throwing the DJ music down, bringing a few "Special FX" with me, and a few surprises, too!

I finally got a new tip jar, so I expect it will be full by the time I'm through...
Let's just say it's an offer they can't refuse!

(I've had 3 tip jars broken by drunken, rude customers in a 2 yr. period. They owe me something!)
