Emo people bother me for some reason.  I see them at the mall, and they sit there looking so bored and pissy and sad....it's like....GO HOME YOU'RE RUINING MY FUN!!!

Yeah, but do they have to share that sadness with other people?  Case in point:  My sister and I were at North Point a couple days ago buying some shoes for her student-teaching gig, and we were in line at the Chick-Fil-A to get something to drink.  This kid behind us kept whining about how his life had no meaning, how everything was fruitless and how he'd die alone in pool of his own waste. 


I wanted to spike him in the forehead with the heel of my sister's boots.

Naw, they weren't all whiny and depressed, but in the 80s we just called them all goth.  It seems that nowadays we need a special name for everything.

I enjoy a lot of their music, especially the roots of Goth (before it fused with Metal and started to suck), but the fashion is ridiculous.

That is exactly my point.  Today there is goth and emo.  But in the 80s and even into the 90s we used to just call them all goth.  Now you might look back and say that there were goths and there were posers, but we used to just lump them all up because we didn't use the word Emo to describe the style.
