Subject: How do you set your thermostat?
Written By: ultraviolet52 on 07/28/06 at 12:54 pm
There has been some debate about what's the right temperature to set your thermostat at. My boyfriend's father said 70 degrees is where he kept it. My boyfriend thought that was too low and that 78 is just about right. I think 75 to 78 is just perfect for me. I am talking in Fahrenheit degrees, not Celsius.

We set ours to 68 while we're asleep, 70 when we're awake.
That's only from, say, October onto May, though.. until then, we keep it off.

It'll probably be set to 68 once the winter hits. Tell your boyfriend to wear a sweater hehehe ;)

I like it cold!! The colder the better during the summer.
I don't keep it too hot during the winter either.
The central air is on 70 right now.

WOW! I must be a weirdo.....I keep it around 78 during the day and 75 at night during the summer and 66 (day) and 64 (night) during the winter......or maybe I'm just too cheap to pay the extra electric/gas bills ;D

To avoid power outages, we've been told on the radio to leave it at 78... I don't really use it... I use a fan or ice packs... I'm hot no matter what! :D

:) Luckily, my boyfriend doesn't live with him any longer, so where he and I live, we keep it to 78, also due to keeping a power outage from happening due to our rolling black outs.

I'm too cheap to afford a proper thermostat or central heating system. But if I were to acquire a thermometer and place it in the house, my winter temperature indoors would be roughly 15-16 degrees (59-61 Farenheit) and summer would be around 29-30 indoors (84-86 farenheit)
Not very comfy, but comfort comes at a cost (money I don't have)

Right now the A/C is set at about 74, but since I can't keep my hands off the stupid thing, it'll change soon.

Well, it may depend on how hot it is outside. Like if it's in the 90's to 100's, then I would probably lower it to 71-73 degrees. But, we don't have a lot of humidity here, so keeping it about 5-10 degrees lower than the outside temperature doesn't feel all that bad inside.
