I put a link cos I haven't figured out how to post tumbnails. Anyone know how?
Save the pic to your hard drive. Go to "additional options" underneath the reply screen. Where it says "attach", click browse and find the file. Upload it. Click post. Voila.....an attachment.

How cool would it be if it was in real-time? I mean you could zoom in and see people walking on the street, going about their daily business...
NASA has satellites that powerful. It's a pity privacy laws may restrict it being available to the general public...

Yeah the aerial pic of my street must've been taken in 2003 cos it shows a large grassed area which is now built on, you can even see the well trodden path people used to short cut over the land!!

Google Earth coverage of New Zealand is crap. The closest I got was a very poor, undetailed image.
Here is a local (cropped) image of my neighbourhood from a local site. Detail is poor as its black and white.
If you are really desperate, you can go here and download a fulsize image (warning: filesize is over 4MB): http://www.linz.govt.nz/rcs/linz/pub/web/root/core/Topography/AerialAndOrthophotos/OrthophotoIndex/apM35/index.jsp

Alot of rural areas receive quite poor coverage, and you can't scroll down on many regional towns.

This is the last thing I'm doing tonight! So there's the office building w/ the three segments to it. My house is about halfway down the block on the street just to the west of that. So when I sit out on my back porch there's this big hill of open space and the office building on top of the hill. At night it's lit up and once in awhile an office light is on. (perhaps I need to get binoculars and become a peeping tom! ;D) Anyway, here it is.

Fairly sure I havent heard the crowds - but when Kiss played there I definately heard sounds and could clearly see the strobes and fireworks. Concert wise I have seen Fleetwood Mac and Meat Loaf play at the WACA in recent years. They set the stage up on the field in the lower quarter of the field and the audience sat in a quarter of the stands and on the field in rows of chairs. Hmmm does that explain it ? its not like Wembley where the stage is at one end and all the stands and field are filled with crowd. I drew a basic pic in paint - hope it makes sense.
I also have a soccer stadium (not a big one) a couple of streets east of me and can hear the roar of the crowd from that one - and when Tom Jones and Pavarotti played there recently (separately !) I could hear the gigs quite clearly.

They used to play footy at the WACA, til it got too small. I don't know why the government's considering building a newfangled stadium in Cockburn or thereabouts, when they have a perfectly good second stadium in the WACA. Just needs a huge face-lift/expansion.

It was nothing to do with size actually. It was to do with the contracts put in place when the Eagles first started in the VFL/AFL. When the contracts ended - so did the relationship with the WACA.
Its wasnt built for footy anyway - too round. One kicj out of the centre and the ball was in the goal square. Most players of the late 80s and early 90s hated the ground.
It was built for cricket - and thats all that should be played there.

Yeah, on second thoughts wasn't the ideal ground for Footy. It was in a top location though...ah well.
