I don't think it's him.. he makes a lot of threads, but no bandwagon threads.. those are the ones that piss me off.

I completely agree, except when they're all over the 1st page, it can be hard to avoid them.  I'm not saying that gives anyone the right to belittle someone else's threads/posts/opinions, but when people start dragging up threads from years ago just because they look similar to threads that were started recently, it can be rather annoying.

Yeah, to me the complaint threads are more of a waste of space than anything. If you want to complain, then at least leave it to one thread or even a separate department - like where Chucky handles stuff. That's where complaints should go anyway.

Eventually, most of these ask me threads will disappear and then maybe reappear. It appears even my own Ask Me thread has gone on into Cyber heaven, so I don't think the others will last too much longer anyway. One can only answer so many questions anyway.

It gets annoying, though, when every f--king day, you have to scroll past them.. it takes forever, and all the good threads are getting bumped off the first page.

And the reason we keep having the "why is this place dead?" threads is because.. it's dead. And when it's not dead, the people posting are cliqueish and boring.

When we don't like a subject, we don't post... and then, when there's 12 versions of that thread on the first two pages.. you're bound to get pissed.

Well, I don't know. I don't quite get your rationale. I took the PPP as just a general playground to ask free for all questions on most topics that were non-specific. You guys have had plenty of fun with several nonsense threads that's more or less inside stuff that really no one but a select few can participate, but once people start up these ask me threads it's not like it's excluding people or demeaning them. So, give some people a break here. It will die off.. just like a lot of other nonsense threads have in the past.

Not for nothing, but the reason those threads are there is because those are the threads people are posting in, and the reason you have trouble finding the threads you want, or the threads you started is because those are the ones that may not be getting so much action.  There are ways to sift through the ones you don't want to read, this isn't a private club, it's very egalitarian,everyone gets a fair chance to bring up a topic, and everyone has the right to ignore  what they do not want to read.

Yes, I would get pissed off by the listing of threads on page one of an Internet message board when I had zero obligation to look at them. I would then whine about it constantly with a means of driving the other members so crazy they will all gouge out their eyes, leaving me and my cronies the only sighted members, thereby significantly reducing everyone else's output.

Now that we've left Dramaland, what I would actually do is find the thread in which I wanted to post, or just leave the board if I'm not finding it entertaining at the moment. I don't mean unregister, I mean close it. Do something productive or do something else that's more entertaining for the time. In fact, I oftentimes find threads  (e.g., Lyrics You Like even though it's consistently buried) when I feel like reviving them. It's not hard.

If this is too hard for you to do because you truly get enraged when you see page one threads that aren't to your liking, I recommend investing in a nice box of tissues, perhaps a stress relief toy, or maybe even a nice sedative of some sort. After using all appropriate, come back and see if you can't have an all-around more pleasant board experience.

It's not like "ROAR! MEAT MONSTER!" anger, it's just like "Oh, Jesus, no one freaking CARES where you live.. why are there so many of these threads?".

Here's a good metaphor for everyone.. think of Inthe00s like your town park. Now, imagine your nice, fun park is covered in trash. It's still a lot of fun, but you have to wade through so much trash, some days it's not even worth going to the park anymore. And then (Unrelated note here), with the case with some people who like to start fights around here, it's like getting punched in the groin every time you DO show up.

The thing about "checking back later" is that if you don't keep bumping the good threads, the bullsh-t ones take over and then there's nothing.. it happened with the Ask Threads when they were popular, too. There's only so many NEW threads you can start, people are still gonna be committed to the dumb threads. The goal is to change the bandwagon mindset so we have unique, interesting posts and threads, instead of a uniform set of copycat generic threads.

I don't know about the other guys, but I had one ask thread and Becks Birthday.

Last time I checked, that doesn't flood the board and bump everything off the front.

At one time, I do remember such an incident when a few under 20 people thought this board was boring and were sacking it with complete and utter nonsense, all the while insulting former and current members and causing a lot of chaos just to "shake things up"

All I'm saying is that these "Ask Me" threads are, yes, a bit tedious and have taken up some of the front page viewing to a degree, but for goodness sake, it's not THAT bad to cause such a raucous over.

Well the new section of the "ask me" threads seems to be solving some problems.  But just adding my 2 cents...everybody has their own opinions....some people hated the "ask me" threads, whereas, other people totally despised the "becks" thread...I mean, they are all there, open to anyone who wants or doesn't want to view them....none of them really bothered me....I mean, if I see a thread that I think is pointless, I usually just ignore it...very simple. :)

well, it was a good idea of yours to put all of the "ask" threads in one section....now they are in the same place and if someone doesn't wanna go there, they don't have to :)

It's obvious the Ask threads were/are popular, and I quite enjoy them as a means of semi-serious discussion and a way to learn things about different places etc. Good to see a new category for them.  :)
