See, you bring up a good point.. Think of being back in school. You have teachers.. one gives out a small piece of candy everytime you say something they agree with, find mildly amusing, or sometimes just give you candy for the Hell of it. Compare that to a teacher who isn't mean or cheap or anything, but only gives you candy when you've truly said something worthy of reward.

I guarantee candy from the second teacher is a lot more rewarding. I'd rather have my 35 Karma well earned then 454968798432154987456 just given out.

I'd prefer if you had a limited amount to giveaway, more like currency.. then it'd be hard-earned.

But then people would just register accounts to give themself a ton of Karma every day... there's always ways to cheat.

Okay, i'm stingy when it comes to handing out the goods, but I will give it out to those I feel deserve it. It kinda defies the point handing it out willy-nilly

I keep forgetting about this whole 'applaud' thing. I wonder why it was included in the update?

I applaud people for being thought provoking and interesting. I think the Dude has received more applause from me than anybody else I've given it to, even though we can never agree. That's because he's articulate and comes up with some really good points.
