Are you a looker or a look away ?

Inspired by seeing the term used on Third Watch tonight  ;D

I am a look away...

It depends.  Sometimes I look, soemtimes I look away.  I hate looking at the size of the needle they use in blood donations but I don't mind when I have an injection.

Can we cue jokes along the lines of, 'You'll only feel a little prick, sir!'

Nope, I can look...needles have never bothered me...

(Which reminds me, I must donate some blood pretty soon...)

I like to watch docs or tattooers give me needles, but seeing other people getting poked grosses me out.

I can't look.  Needles are not my favourite  :\'(

I hate it, but once in awhile I get curious and feel like looking.  :-\\ 

i stare in morbid fascination. it's even cooler watching myself get stitches.

I have watched all that stuff; it doesn't hurt and it's fascinating!

The doctor I used to go to ... his nurse had walleye vision or something like that cause everytime she'd take my blood, she botched it up and had to do it again like 3 or 4 times.  It's no wonder i'm still afraid of a needle  :o

I have accute case of needle-itis. I don't do needles very well. And I can't look even if I'm not the one getting the needle.

I just had some blood drawn this afternoon. I watched the whole thing, and it didn't really bother me.  However, it just so happened that I saw this thread right before I went to the doctor's office, so it may have skewed the results a little bit.

I freak out, majorly.

Yet i've stitched my own head up, and glued it up as well, weird huh.

Actually I've had to get more than one ingrown toenail removed, and when they do that they stick a big needle in your toe to numb it. It goes in a good ways too; maybe half an inch. The doc even commented to me "you know this was the first time i've given this shot and had somebody watch the whole thing without squirming around".  ;D

It depends. I use to be deathly afraid of needles, but I seemed to have this distrusting thing about me where if I didn't watch them take my blood then I felt I didn't have control over the situation, so I'd watch them every time - I still do.

I had my tetanus jab last year.  They reckon if you have three boosters after your initial childhood vaccine then you are covered for life.  Which is good because I had a weird reaction whilst having the jab.

I can't look - mainly because most of the needles I have had in recent years have been via the mouth and I literally *can't* look  ;)

The last needle outside of that, was when I needed stitches in my finger and I copped three needles right into the wound  :o :\'(

That happened to me several years ago when I dropped a shelf and the corner went into my foot!  :o :-[

I either close my eyes or look away.

I can go either way....

I can't look...the thought freakes me out.  I did want a mirror so I could watch my C-section, but the doctor wouldn't let me.  I think it would have been cool.

In response to the poll question, I would have to say no. :o

I voted for it depends. If its just a simple shot or blood donation I can handle it, but if its major surgery it can gross me out.

I like to see it coming. I don't like needle pain, but it doesn't bother me.. a LOT of needles... now THAT bothers me.. but one needle, guided by a trained professional.. not scary to me.
