Anyway, to answer this thread's question: I don't know how much longer I'll be here. I have been a registered member for almost two whole years (next month), and I hope to be here at least another year or two. However, if I end up taking classes that will require me to be away from the 'puter for a while, then I may not be here quite as frequently. I don't intend to completely leave anytime soon, for I have met some really nice folks here. :)

This is probably the longest I've been involved in a messageboard discussion forum and it's by far the most diverse arena I've ever entered. The last few were part of a thing called "Gibson Girls." We were like a bunch of people who really liked Victorian stuff and had our own Victorian websites. I even made them Victorian graphics. Another I was involved was with Vivien Leigh Fans (who is also my current avatar). That lasted maybe a few months, but I did meet some neat people through that one. Even people I snail mailed to for some time and exchanged Vivien Leigh things overseas. This one though, has definetely been the most consistant messageboard experience for me. I hope to stay for awhile longer unless 1 or 2 things listed (work, new career/job, getting married/setting up house/having children, or just death itself, lol) completely take my attention away - and if so, I will let you all know! I won't disappear like some others have.. (of course, unless I die for no apparant reason, lol.. God, I'm sounding so morbid right now)

Hopefully for a while but my posts may be limited if I land a job in the near future since it can be very time consuming.

Probably until I speak my mind one too many times and end up getting banned...

Actually stayed completely away... probably about three weeks... But I'd say I was away for a couple months.  But I have the email notification of pm's, so occasionally I would get a pm so I would have to come here to respond to it.

Since about January or February of 2005.  But I discovered inthe80s around 2001 or 2002, and began reading the forums probably in 2004.

Not yet, and not a big fan of drama, but it sometimes happens, more so on a softball site I used to frequent until I found this place. Now I don't even look at my softball sites. That site's called smacktalk, and as then name implies, thats what happens and it can get ugly. The people here from all over the world have a good thing going. Not everyone gets to have a good fellowship like this.

I must say I miss Absolutely Vile and Rush and also Bobby.  They all brought a new dimension to the boards that departed when they left.  I never really talked to Rush,  I didn't get along with Absolutely Vile, and Bobby was a really nice guy, but I miss them all. Hell, I even miss RockandRollFan, although I respect Chucky's judgement in having him leave.

Ab-Vile and Rush, they erased their accounts a long time ago. As for Bobby, his account still exists, but he doesn't know when/if he'll come back or not. I chatted with Ab-Vile on the PBG threads a lot, but I didn't know Rush very well.

Well, I always have tended to be a "settler" with whatever I do in life (jobs, relationships, interests, whatever else) and that applies to this sort of thing too. I started visiting forums back in 1997 (though I rarely posted much until late 98/early '99) and I've had a tendency to stay planted.

Of course, just as I tend to always like the same things, it's only human nature to go though phases of especially liking something. For instance, I started up on the BTTF board in early 2003, and though I don't rabbidly post there like I used to, I still go there frequently and probably always will. Partly because I've met some pretty cool people there, some of whom I'm now friends with.

Same applies here. And this is the kind of place something will always happen (in other words, it's never gonna be truly "dead") and people will probably always be around.

Plus, I've gotten to know enough of y'all here, to not want to pack it in anyway. So unless I get run over by a bus, I'll almost certainly be here till, say 2010. If something comes up to where I can't be, I'll announce it so no one thinks I intentionally dropped off the face of the planet. ;D

I've been here almost 4 1/2 years myself.

It's hard to say exactly how long I've been here. I found the messageboard in late 2002 and began posting as a guest in January 2003, but I didn't register until February of 2004. So I guess you could say I've been here for 3 years. :)
