Not very many. I only own copies of the ones I really like and watch frequently. Most movies I wouldn't watch more than once a year, so I figure it's more economical to rent or borrow those movies, or burn them if I can get away with it. It would cost me literally thousands of dollars to buy every movie I liked.

Sometimes there are just such great deals on DVD's that I snatch them up but, like some on here, I haven't actually sat down to watch some or most of them.. like "Full Metal Jacket" or "The Right Stuff."

I'd say I own at least between 60-90 DVD's (that's an obvious general number as I'm too lazy to count right now!) VHS tapes are a whole other can of worms - at least in the 200 range.. just too many years of collecting those!

Just a couple of kids movies, We started buying them and stopped because we never watch them again and then they end up on TV anyway.  My son, that's a different story!

collectively in my house I'd say at least 55 Disney's (not just regular animation films) and assroted other kid titles, then an additional 20-30on VHS and another 25+after that on DVD.
    I agree with ^ however that many of my favorites are always on tv so I never watch them on recorded media.

I also have stuff I had taped many years ago such as Mr.Rogers Neighborhood,Sesame Street and A Bugs Bunny(June Bugs)Marathon.Those are for if I have any kids and my old age.

Last I counted, I believe I had over 100 DVDs.

yes exactly!! If they cared enough to send the very best, then what kind of person am I to just toss their thoughtfulness into the trash. Last year, my husband forced me to go through a bunch of  cards I had stored in a box down in the basement. I sorted them into Definitely Keep.. and I did end up making a pile of cards I agreed to to throw.. but then I couldn't do it.. so get this , this is how insane I am... I told him I would donate them to a charity that recycles cards .. LOL.. I never did do that.. he ended up throwing them away when I wasn't looking.  There are some cards that I have locked up in our firesafe box. The last Easter card my grandma gave me.. and the graduation card she gave me , when I graduated from highschool. They are as valuable as gold to me. I'll never part with them.

As for my movie collection, I have a 3 ring binder with all the titles .. I'll have to update it, by making a new one with all the new titles I've added since I last had that list made.. (that was back in 2003).

I know.. I have some VHS tapes I haven't even opened yet. Since I started buying DVDs, the VHS tapes have definitely taken a back seat. But because I have so many VHS, I will always keep at least 2 VCRs on hand. If they ever decide to quit making VCRs.. well I'll have to stock up.
