Subject: Do you have a "junk drawer"? If so, what's inside it?
Written By: nally on 12/22/05 at 3:56 pm
First of all, this topic was inspired by a thread in the pre-1970's forum.
Anyone care to discuss what's in their "junk drawer"? I will talk about my junk drawer later.

U know what I found in my junk drawer? A crumpled up old styrofoam container for a McDonalds Big Mac. McDonalds stopped using styrofoam containers for the burgers some 15 years ago :o

We use to have a major junk drawer growing up - it had various misc items like push pins, Fast food sauces, pens, notepads, business cards, nails (lol), confetti - just junk, really!

There's one in the kitchen and it contains all the usual stuff: tape, batteries, scissors, pens, keys, stuff

To be honest, I don't know if we have an "official" junk drawer in the kitchen - there's one with stuff like the cheese slicer, rolling pizza cutter, battery operated ice cream scooper (makes a "moo"ing cow noise. Which can get annoying over time, but I still like it!) and stuff like that.
However the "stationary" stuff tends to be scattered around, or in the living room.
Now, if we're talking about me or my bedroom, then yeah. I'm pretty organized, but even a geek like me has to have a few "just put anything in here"-areas. ;)
The upper left hand drawer of my computer desk has tons of blank paper, rubber bands, pushpins, scotch tape, crayons, boxed pencils (from a 6 pack I got in high school. Never used the last two) and stuff like that.

We've got a junk drawer where you can find the phone charger, spare batteries, sticky tape, glue stick, recipes ripped out of magazines, old notes from school, pencils, pens, pencil sharpeners, pack of cards, pocket dictionary and various other bits of crap.

Unfortunately, almost all of my drawers become junk drawers over time...

Heh! I've actually got a 'junk room', where all of my personal effects (mostly a record collection that has followed me since the dawn of time) are buried...!
I also have an amazing knack of hoarding scraps of paper with a phone number on them and nothing else...no name, nothing! Just a number...
I must call a few of 'em up one day and find out who they are...!

With that in mind, I took the plunge and dialled one...
...and in the sexiest voice I could muster, enquired...'and how are youuuu, darling?'
Trouble was, it was the plumber...!
Mahahahahaha!!!! ;D

In my bedroom, it's the second draw down on my beside table. I keep useless old plugs and bits of paper from years ago in it, among other things... ::)
Downstairs, the main Junk HQ is located in the kitchen. Empty batteries, bits of plastic, bottle caps, and our old Video Recorder manual... for the video recorder we don't even have any more! ;D

My whole apartment is a junk drawer, but my man's junk is another man's treasure. :)
