Subject: Playground name calling
Written By: Stompgal on 11/21/05 at 7:21 am
It's not very nice for some. My mum was a fat child and she was called Gail the Whale and Pale Gail. I was called Goofy and April Fools.
What horrible or hurtful names were you called om the playground?

I've been called all sorts. I dunno about the rest of the people on here, but in my case, it was always the more popular kids that did it, or that were the instigators. It was probably so that everyone thought they were 'hard' and cool, but in fact they were just making themselves look like mouthy tw*ts who couldn't punch their way out of wet tissue...

I was a late bloomer, had braces, very skinny and wore glasses till grade 8:
Q-tip
Rockin Robin
Pirates Dream (sunkin chest)
Toothpick
Gapper (my thighs were far apart at my crotch?)
4 eyes
witchy poo (my eyes are two different colors)
metal mouth
titless wonder
Then, my braces came off, I got boobs and contacts and every one suddenly liked me. I remember grade 8 as being very surreal. I should mention that all of these names were invented by boys - I don't remember a girl calling me any of these names. Junior High afforded me the knowledge of how powerful a women's breasts really are.....

I was called Puppy Chow - never knew why, but it wasn't really an offence to me, but now it makes me wonder? lol

I actually read about a TV show (I presume it was only on certain channels) that features a lady cop with gigantic breasts and shes uses them as weapons by swinging them against the bad guys and hitting them.

Meh, I got used to it. I never had a very high self-esteem to begin with, so whenever I got insulted, I'd just be like "You can do worse, honestly, and still be telling the truth.".
That mentality got me through elementary school fairly scuff-free.
Aren't you angry? Bitter?

i got ****** and fruit and all that kinda stuff, about not being insufficiently manly. i got really tired of it and in tenth grade i took up smoking and grew out my hair and started dressing all "tough" and people laid off somewhat. in my tenth grade yearbook i have all these signatures from people going, you used to be a goofball but now you're cool. but it was so totally phony because i only put on this persona to get these people to quit working all this lord-of-the-flies crap on me because before that i was a computer geek and egghead and whatnot. so phony! and it took me twenty years to kick the smoking habit. gawd.

Nope. I got worse insults at home, and became kinda bulletproof to insults from people I hated.
No point staying bitter.. I know all people aren't like that.
Apparently in your case, it built character.

I've been called many things, mostly by my little brother, half of them are jokes though. People have made fun of my name by calling me Dick, which I know is a nickname, but they implied it in a negative way ::).
