Subject: Magnificent Accomplishment Of The Day
Written By: Apricot on 11/13/05 at 10:50 am
OH MY GOD.
I just made the most kick-ass box of macaroni and cheese I have had since I was 9 years old.. I have finally broken through our family curse of making the worst macaroni and cheese on Earth.
What great things have YOU accomplished today?

I woke up...
(Might not sound a lot, but this becomes increasingly important as you get older...!!)
I have finally broken through our family curse of making the worst macaroni and cheese on Earth.
Actually, I'll wager that it was no worse than the pile of slop (masquerading under that name) dished up when I was on jury service earlier in the year...!
(I sometimes used to wonder who was actually on trial...!!)

I finally got through all my 80's CD-R's. I now know what every U.S. Chart Hit of the 80's sounds like. Now all I need to do is memorize them all so I can recognize them at any time ;D

Went to Toys R Us and bought all of my neices and nephews christmas gifts. It's a huge accomplishment for me, since I usually wait until about a week before Christmas.

My company wants me to take this really crappy job that nobody wants (and for good reason). I flat-out said "no".
So today the President calls me in his office and says "Hey this is really important, everyone here up to the owner really thinks highly of you. You need to do this". I said "thanks, but NO".
He then said "well how much more money would it take?". I said "no amount of money, don't go down that road."
So what was my magnificent accomplishment? I resisted being bought off. :)

The problem I always find is that by the time you've finished the second part the first bit is covered with leaves again!!
I always know that come April I will still be raking up leaves. Oak is the absolute worst because hard
wood trees hold there leaves longest, and you aren't supposed to leave them on the lawn because they
don't mulch, they smother. :(

The worst tree in our garden is the eucalyptus, it sheds leaves all year round.
My comment was partly based on my experience the other weekend. I spent a couple of hours or so with the children clearing the front garden of leaves only for hubby to come home and ask what we'd been doing all day. ::)
One day a guy came home from work, the kids were outside, dirty, still in their pajamas. He went in the house and there was trash everywhere, the kitchen was a mess with food all over the place, clothes were littered through out the house, the toilet was clogged, towels strewn everywhere. He walked into the bedroom and his wife was there reading a book. He looked at her amazed and said "What the heck is going on around here?" She said "You know how everyday you ask me what I did today, well today I didn't do it." ;)
