So, this is only slightly random, but I was listening to the radio today and this song came on that starts off like:

And then rest of it is like, "I know she's leaving, and that nothing stays the same." and then says something about shooting stars and rain . So, yeah, if you have ANY idea what song this is, please post!
If you know me, I know, like, every song ever ... So, this is really bothering me.

Well, my part in this is to keep it here for as long as "Separated at Birth!" was at the top. That was, in my opinion, one of the worst threads ever created on this board and it bothered me to see it.

Consider this: If we didn't have "Longest Thread Ever", I would be spamming every other thread so much no one would EVER see a post with substance EVER again. It'd just get buried. LTE gives us a place to vent our urges to say nothing, and keeps the rest of the forum (fairly) spam-free.

Ah, okay. Yeah, some people don't like Beck for the non-sensical lyrics. But then, you aren't always looking for depth in lyrics.. I like Beck for good beats, good music, and I sometimes enjoy the weird lyrics.. I like getting unusual imagery.

Mellow Gold is the trippiest, and probably the best (except Sea Change, but that's almost like it's by some completely different artist).
One Foot In The Grave is the darkest, and the most folk. If you wanted to argue that Beck was Avant-Garde, this would be the album to use. Also one of the best, I think.

they go around watching American teen shows and listening to obscure American bands. I've even heard a couple of them using some American terms. Basically, they want to be like how the movies portray American teenagers
Personally, i'm proud of being British (more specifically, a mackem!), so i've never really tried to be American, Japanese, Mongolian or anything OTHER than British! ;D
I'd hate to be French, though >:(

If there were two people from nearby regions who had accents that you would be able to tell the difference between without hesitation, chances are I wouldn't be able to pick up on the differences.

No one cares that it was an inactive user's birthday. We played off the "BECKS" thing, and now the thread is continuing on. Again, I'll use this analogy: Compare this thread to "Bump Me!" "I Gotta Pee", any of jiminy's old joke threads. Except there's nothing offensive about this thread. There would be no basis to deleting it.
And I go with Beth.. is it really THAT big a deal? This forum is fairly orderly, sometimes you just gotta get the lead out.. you need somewhere to just spam everyone's ass off, and it might not be in just one thread. But as long as we keep to our few threads, no one gets hurt. If you don't like this thread, do what I do with threads I dislike: pass them by and ignore them. Chucky has been active several times since this thread's creation, and it never got deleted. So I'm guessing he doesn't view this as something that needs to be "taken down". So either wait for him to have a change of heart or for us to get bored and make a new retarded joke thread. Talking about how much a thread sucks only keeps it going. If you ignore it, chances are it'll die faster. If not, oh well, you're ignoring it, no big deal for you.

This was a tiny one. We live literally.. right on top of the New Madrid fault, one of the biggest in the world. Basically when it decides to go properly.. St. Louis (where i live) Memphis.. and a bunch of other towns won't exist. Then there will be damage all the way to Kansas City, Chicago etc. Let's just say that last time this thing went properly the Mississippi river flowed backwards. Mississippi is i belive the third biggest river in the world ;)

That was one of the categories on the game show "Win Ben Stein's Money." In case you haven't noticed, I've been using some of those in the subject line. If you've never watched that show before, you probably won't have a clue. All the categories on that show are a play on words, and the questions associated with them have something to do with the key words. For example, for the one I'm using for this reply ("Daylight come and Rwanda go home"), there was a question having to do with Rwanda. Anyway, the show "Win Ben Stein's Money" has been on Comedy Central, and the reruns currently air on GSN late at night. I don't think it's on tonight, though. :-\\

I just think it makes no cents (or dollars, or any other currency) to keep a birhday thread around indefinitely. Especially if it's one for a member who just shows up once and leaves.
...It is a joke. No one *actually* cares about BECKS. That's the whole joke, people may find this thread thinking about Beck, but surprise, it's just about an obscure member which we hype up despite that he only has one post!
And...we're mainly posting here because we know it annoys some people. If you don't like this thread, don't post in it. It's just one thread, and it isn't going to kill you for it to be on page one.

That goes back to Latin.. English comes from a bit of all the European languages, such as French, Spanish, Old English, German, etc... and minus German, they all pretty much come from Latin. Spanish is actually very similar to Latin.. I read something about it, and apparently the province of Hispania still felt a great deal of loyalty to Rome after the fall, so they stayed true to the language.

Because there are people who try to talk to me in Spanish like I'm obligated to know it.. people who are perfectly capable of speaking English who think that I should be able to perfectly translate random blasts of a foreign language.. if that happened with French, I'd hate French too.. but it's just Spanish.

Yanno... It's a language, what's there not to like? If you think like that, you might as well say you don't like English either.
The way it sounds, the words, the pronunciations, the way cases are arranged.. there's a lot to like and dislike in a language. I dislike the word 'gargantuan' but enjoy the word 'massive'. In essence, they mean the same thing.. but there are 'g's in 'gargantuan', as well as a 'gar', two sounds I happen to dislike. 'computadora' pisses me off because it ends in 'a' (I dislike that on words), it's totally ripping off another word (computer), it replaces 'er' with 'a' (which I hate, as in 'there's no otha I'd rather see.' or 'Like a brotha.'), and ends in 'dora' (another thing I just dislike). That's one example of a Spanish word I dislike. There are many more. Sure, I hate words from other languages, but most of the words that I dislike are in Spanish.
