Subject: Music Questions
Written By: Apricot on 10/29/05 at 8:32 pm
Here, you can pose or answer questions about music. Here's a few:
1. Which bands would you like to see cover which other bands? If you'd like to be specific, which songs?
2. Pick 5 of your favorite artists, and their 10 best songs each.
3. If you could adopt the voice of one musician, who would it be? You would also have their speaking voice, as well as singing voice.

I'll start:
1. Which bands would you like to see cover which other bands? If you'd like to be specific, which songs?
2. Pick 5 of your favorite artists, and their 10 best songs each.
3. If you could adopt the voice of one musician, who would it be? You would also have their speaking voice, as well as singing voice.
1. I'd like to see Cornelius cover Jack-Off Jill (Shibuya-Kei and whatever J-O J is are two genres NEVER to be mixed), Third Eye Blind cover The Magnetic Fields, and The Magnetic Fields cover Radiohead.
2. No real order for artist or song, but...
Momus:
I Want You But I Don't Need You
Yokohama Chinatown
Pierrot Lunaire
Last Communist
Cockle Pickers
Bi-Shonen
Robert Dye
Hairstyle of the Devil

High Five (Rock The Catskills)

Magnetic Fields:

Old Time Relijun:

3. I'd like either Arrington de Dionyso (Old Time Relijun), Thom Yorke (Radiohead) or Stephin Merrit (The Magnetic Fields).. most like Thom Yorke. As much as de Dionyso's voice would be cool, it'd scare the Hell outta even ME. Also, Stephin Merritt's voice doesn't have a lot of range.. it's low, and very much in the style of an elderly gentleman. Thom York has a good singing voice, and a British accent.. so it's all good.

Thom Yorke DOES have a cool voice... and so does John Linnell of They might Be Giants

John Linnell does have a cool voice.. but it's not one I'd like to have to speak in.. and it's cool, but not a very INTERESTING voice to sing in.

I'd like to see the Foo Fighters cover Nirvana. I mean, imagine Smells Like Teen Spirit, but instead of Dave Grohl drumming, he's singing!

Another question:
If you could play ONE song really, really, really, really, really well (like, better then the artist who did it), sing it and all, which song would it be?
I'd say, for me "Mystery Language" by Old Time Relijun or "Mononucleosis" by Ween.

I'd pick... Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance by The Mothers Of Invention
or.. Little Study by Robert Schuuman... because I have to memorize it for piano lessons.
