Its cooler in the mornings and evenings. HOT in the afternoon. I just got back from Vegas, after 3 days of celebrating my sisters b-day. So now its back to work, and homework in the evenings. Been busy with field trips and school stuff. Bought my daughters halloween costume, and have been making crafts. I have been taking my morning walks and enjoying the scents of fall.  :)

I got my two $50 gift cards today from JcPenney and I already got two things.  I ordered a nightgown (which I desperately need, because the one I have is too baggy on me) and a new corded phone (my cordless is fine when the electricity is on, but I'd like to have a good phone if the power goes off), plus the corded phone has a clock radio so now I can listen to the radio while I'm by my computer.  :P  And one good thing is I still have money left on one of my gift cards so I can get something else.  whoohoo

I think Robin's right.I think the odds of someone calling me for a possible job interview at McDonalds or Burger King is greater than someone calling me for a possible job interview at supermarkets cause right now I'm very frustrated and nobody has called me so I might turn my attention to food service jobs though I'm not so sure yet.At least it's something to do. :)

That's better than it is here - we live in an apartment complex, so nobody knocks at our door! I was at home one Halloween out of the 9 years we've lived here, and it was pretty boring! I got all dressed up for myself! ;D

Considering I was kinda too old to trick or treat when we moved in (14 in early '96), I've always tried to make sure I went out on Halloween.

After putting your applications in, have you tried calling them? Sometimes if you show that you're really serious about the job, it impresses them.

I have to agree with you guys about the children. For the past ten years we haven't even been answering the door. We got too many kids who didn't even live in the neighborhood, and some of them would come by at least twice. It used to be fun, but now you never know who's coming to the door. We never answer the door to people we don't know because they could be bad people. :o :-[

Modified to add: We only answer the door when we're expecting someone. We always look through the peephole first, and if we don't recognize the person, we just walk away.

1. Not from my perspective. I know girls/women who like younger men as the reverse is true. If you don't ask, you won't know.

2. Now that is your real problem. It depends on how much you want to be with this girl if she is positive.

3. If the other girl doesn't know . . . Well . . . She doesn't know, so it is not hurting her. You've got to think about your happiness with one of the girls because you can't take/mess them around - that would be even more hurtful to both of them and you won't get any of them.

4. Perspective . . . mate . . . perspective. If you see this as a rejection, you will go into it with a negative attitude. If you see this as a challenge, you will go into it with a positive attitude. Why do you think people do ski-diving or mountain climbing? I feel like crap....BOTH ears are throbbing, I'm running a fever and my glands in my neck are so swollen, you can see them :o  And, this all started within the past couple of hours :(


that's what happened to me when they thought I had mono... they took a blood test and everything! And as soon as they figured out i didn't have it, the pain went away...

The thing with my dad was that he thought I was an 'embarrassment' to this new woman he married (been married about 13 years now). He kept trying to break my spirit but I was still stubborn. Excellent advice.. I've tried before.. the nodding doesn't work. If he senses I'm not listening (and he does a lot of the time), he asks me to re-cap what he just said.. sometimes the entire lecture, and even if I was paying attention, it's hard to remember it all.

here's what you do Howard...make yourself a bit more organized....when you get applications to fill out....make a chart that lists where you applied, when you turned it in....and a column for a call-back option...that way....you can refer back to it...call the place of employment back...and then mark down when you called....that way it will keep you more organized...believe me...I am a total chart/list kind of person...or else I will forget a lot.

I went to a gift shop downstairs in my hospital volunteer site this morning and I got Robin a present for my 1st anniversary even though she's not sentimental like I am but I can make her sentimental.I guess she's never had such deep emotional feelings for one particular guy because it must've turned her off at the time she had met a guy off the internet years ago and one guy wanted sex but she refused so he dumped her and I guess she'll be stuck with me.I don't know what next year will bring but I just pray that I'll make it to 2 years with her.The longest relationship I've had so far was almost 5 years so let's hope this relationship sticks around for a while. :)

Yeah, so the other night I called my brother and finally told him I was having trouble with the dating thing. I thought for awhile that he'd be a good person to talk to about it, but I was embaressed about telling him. I swallowed my pride and did so and he offered no help at all. He seemed rather hasty about dismissing the subject entirely.  ::)

My only remaining option for help is my best friend, Justin. We have been best friends in the whole world since we were 5, and he is very good with dating girls. I respect him very much, and really value his opinion of me. I'd just feel so ashamed to tell him I have no clue. See, last time he visited I admitted to him I was a virgin and hadn't any experience yet. He seemed genuinely surprised and then he smiled and said "well I'm sure it'll be pretty soon, right?" and I just nodded and said "yeah".

I was just too ashamed to admit I had no clue on top of it. So I'm inbetween a rock and a hard place about this.

Actually, it was pretty funny...and disappointing at the same time.

Funny in that we were told to evacuate due to a "vague threat," but after asking people about it, I find that someone had written something to the effect of "The school will blow up at 1:30" in the bathroom...on the ceiling...yesterday.  ::)

And then they follow procedure (which is pretty dumb in my opinion) and evacuate us all across the street to the middle school...today.  So they take us and put as all in one place--brilliant.  Let's make it easier for any would-be murderer to get us all with one blow.  Not to mention, we're now with the middle school kids now, so if anyone would try to blow us up, they'd take out half the school district.  It just kept getting better and better.  ::)

And besides, I wasn't particularly worried (which I guess is why I could laugh about it).  After all, with the "Holy Mother of Jesus, there's gonna be a shooting and we're all gonna be killed!!!  :o :o :o " fiasco two weeks ago, I was 90-95% sure it was a joke.

But it was also disappointing, 'cause that's not the Shippensburg I know.  We never had security issues before (besides the occasional fight)...what's happened?  But what can ya do? *shrugs nonchalantly*

Then today, when looking through one of the boxes in the spare room, I came across a long, thin cable which looked an awful lot like an ethernet cable, so I plugged it into my computer upstairs in my room, and what do you know, it was an ethernet cable! and here I am back on the net and writing you this message. God i've missed this place... and it looks like i've missed a lot... :-\\

Well...last night I was watching the Angels-Yankees game on TV, and after it was over, I was feeling really tired; my head was hurting some too. So I just went to bed. This was around 9:30 PM Pacific Time. And I didn't get out of bed this morning until almost 9:00...so I guess I was "underslept", so to speak. :-\\ I'm feeling just fine now. I'll feel even better if the Angels win tomorrow (since the Yankes already have two strikes against them)!

Yeah, my English teacher's pretty cool. This is the first time i've had her since starting the scool 6 years ago, but she's canny. Sometimes she gets all excited and starts jumping around like an idiot shouting lines from the book - it certainly makes it more...um...interesting  ;D

While we're on the subject of English classes...I'm currently taking a literature class. We haven't had any assignments yet in that class (except reading the poems/stories prior to discussing them in class)...but according to the syllabus, we're supposed to write something before the end of the semester; our professor hasn't mentioned anything about it yet. :-\\

The last English class I took was English 101 at a community college; I had to take it as part of my general ed.

Robin and I had such a great time yesterday.We went for dinner at TGIFridays,Shopped at a mall then I treated both of us to frozen yogurt later on in the night.She definitely enjoyed the gift which I gave her and she gave me an Anniversary Card in the car which was very nice of her and very thoughtful.It was a very pleasant evening for an anniversary and ended it with a french kiss.Here's to 1 beautiful year and many more to come. :)

I know B love is the better thing, but I don't think thats something I can obtain. I have to build myself up in a D love relationship first, I guess.

All I have to do now is post off my final assignment and my course has finished for the year, I can feel the relief and relaxation taking over.

Passed my comps required for my Master's degree in Computer Science so afterwards after I felt relief from not having to take any more classes, but right now it's like I still have this anxiety that I still had while attending college, the feeling that I still have something to do. This is the first time I've had absolutely no school work for twenty years so it feels weird right now.

First things first, Alex. Accept your situation and accept yourself. Without doing this, you can't progress, because what you are doing is you are making a potential partner do the work you are supposed to carry out yourself and that is not fair on her.

D Love is selfish love and only based around your ego and not around loving your partner.

As for being alone, you have a choice but it's best you attempt to make changes to improve your chances of not being alone. For example, I have recently bought myself new clothes and considering going to the gym. By putting myself first, I am loving myself. Going to a gym or doing basic excercising will improve my physical appearance and my mindset. Buying new clothes for myself is another way of making myself look attractive and never understimate the importance of smiling - even if you don't feel like it.  :)

I have been told that even though I have no qualifications in that area.  ;D

Unfortunately, I have experienced the kind of pain Alex is going through recently and it's only by trying to work through it and understanding how I can change is the only answer because it's the only variable you can change in this situation. The first few months of being on my own after seperating from my ex where incredibly difficult to deal with even though I knew it was the right thing to do. I treated my ex like a crutch and avoided the issues that I should have dealt with myself.

Now I have no physical means of support, I have no choice but to deal with my issues independently and stand on my own two feet. After about six/seven months of being on my own, I have improved as a person drammatically and the important thing is I will never stop trying to improve my life. :)

I get to spend so much time with her, I get a hug or two every day.. and everyone is happy I asked her.. her friends told me this is the first time they've seen her this happy... and in recent days, the only time they've seen her happy at all. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. :\'( :-[ I will keep you and Erin in my thoughts; I hope everything goes well with her tomorrow. My grandma had to have open heart surgery in May 1999 due to a heart attack; she recovered nicely and is still around today. :)

Eh, not feeling all that great. We had to call the ambulance and rush my mom to the hospital, last night. She has a bad heart, and it was beating out of rhythm. This has happened before, and we just found out this morning that she may need to have open-heart surgery tomorrow.




I'm sorry to hear that, that's ... bad. (I don't know what else to say).

My grandpa had to have surgery twice on his heart  :(
