Subject: Favorite names

Written By: Dominic L. on 09/22/05 at 10:17 pm

Ok, so I'm not sure if this has been done, but I'm starting it anyway!

So, what's your favorite username on inthe00s? Or even, what's your favorite of the real names of the members?

I like Oddysey, Gemini, Midnight Darkness, Dr. Adam Green, CrueltyBroughtOrchids (that's right, isn't it?). and, well... that's all I can think of.

Thank you Odyssey  :)

Quick history of FBVP

In the comic strip "Peanuts", we have Lucy and Linus, as you would be aware (hopefully)  ;D

Their surname in the strip is "Van Pelt"

Now (you with me so far?  :)) in one book, Lucy is talking to Charlie Brown, and describes her state of perpetual crabiness as that of being a "Fuss-budget"  :P

Put the two together and you have my user name.

Why that name ?  Because when I first joined Napster (ah, they were the good old days) I needed a username that no-one else had.  After trying a dozen or so names that I thought would work, only to be told someone else had them  ::) I thought "Right, time to think of one no-one else would have".  It worked there so I thought I would use it elsewhere  :)

And here I am today  :D

The avatar is Lucy and it was had drawn (i.e. not traced, just drawn from sight) by my Daughter when she was about 10  :)

I think 'Sister Morphine' is a really evocative, edgy sort of name, very clever (if you're reading this SM). Can't list em off the top of my head, but I can certainly tell you the usernames I like the least: just using your first name as a user name, straight ripping off cartoon/tv characters.etc.etc.

Anything which is clever I spose.

This isn't forum-related, but I've always loved the name Thyra.  It's an old Danish name, and it's an old family name, so it's one that I've always loved.  My middle name was almost Thyra, but they thought "Beth Thyra" sounded too heavy.

If I ever have a girl, her name will be Thyra.

Gemini
Bury Manilow-I always crack up when I see the name.
Odyssey
FussBudgetVanPelt
Quirk
Sister Morphine-sounds like a nun with a drug "habit"  :D ;D ;D ( no offense, I hope)
Philip Eno-sounds like a play on the word Filipino.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure I will come up with a bunch more later.

I like:

Ktelqueen - I like to call her Kettle Queen
Sister Morphine - it just SOUNDS cool.
Tubeway General - Although this may have been changed again, I thought it had an interesting flow to it.
Whistle-Dog - Always cool!
Midnight Darkness - For a long time, my poor vision kept seeing it as McNight Darkness, then I'd get a hankering for Mcdonalds.
CatwomanofV - This one is very stylish. I'd name my fashion boutique this if I had a chance.
Zella - sounds like an alchoholic drink - in a good way, though  ;)

I'm sure there are more I like, but these are at the top.

I registered with my name before I realised the majority did not.  On other boards I now tend to use the nickname Alcholholica gave me.  I could switch to that here but since I have (probably) complained about user who switch their names too often I figured I wouldn't change
