Subject: Chips inside sandwiches

When I was in grade school I always had to stick chips or pretzels in my peanut butter sandwich :D

It depends on the sandwich. I used to do that all the time when I was a kid and one day I saw my mother do it. I was floored. I thought it was just a "kid thing".

Hang on! Are we talking about 'crisps' here not fries? Chips means fries in UK.
I crush my crisps in my butties all the time. 8)
I don't eat them like that very often but they are a nice treat occassionally.

I'm sorry, but I'm not from the UK. Chips , as in , doritos, ruffles, fritos, etc....
I did have a cousin who use to place his french fries in his burgers though.
I'm assuming Butties=sandwich :D

Both really work well between two slices of bread. 8)

I've been doing it since I was a kid. Usually on a ham sandwich. Just put on a couple of really big potato chips and smash it down! :D

You mean like barbeque chips?

The closest approximation would be what you guys call "French Fries". Except the chips I'm taking about are at least twice the width, because French Fries by definition tend to be sort of stringy :)
So like I mean chips that yo umight get as a part of fish and chips, for example ;)

The walloping great 'doorstep'-type of chip! Marvellous!
I don't partake often with the 'butty', but once in a while's okay...
Lashings of HP sauce are a must...!!
I've never done it with crisps, but I know some that do...

Nowdays they're all bought 'out of the bag' Amanda...
...but my Ma used to have a wonderful contraption where you'd put a peeled spud in, press down the handle and the spud would be 'forced' through a metal 'grille' shaped into the thickness of the chip...
...hey presto! Instantly cut 'thick style' chip!
They never used to taste the same as the ones from the 'chippy' - different type of oil used, I suppose, but good enough!

I wonder if you mean crisps (US Chips) inside sandwiches which are delicious (especially salted ones)
but I also love chip sandwiches, chips being made from potatoes as in French Fries - sorry to have mentioned
the 'F' word  ;D ;D

HP Sauce is sometimes known as 'Brown Sauce' because of its colour...it's a dangerous mix of vinegar, fruit and spices...
Apparently, it was dubbed 'HP' when it was discovered that it was being served in a restaurant in our Houses of Parliament - to this day, you'll find a picture of the building on every bottle...
