At the moment.. a webcam, my chewing gum, my cell phone and some keys that i don't know what are for ;D

my microphone is sitting on top of my monitor.  It looks quite tacky because I keep my microphone covered up with a silk stocking ;D
When you speak into a computer microphone, your saliva and such can sometimes cause static making your voice difficult to hear for the person on the other end.  The stocking acts as a shield, so your voice will sound crisp and clear.  Now if I could only make it so my microphone also had a camera built in, I'd be more technologically advanced than MacGyver  :D

I don't get that close to the microphone and it picks my voice up very well.

I got one of those old fashioned microphones that looks like a missle ready for launch. By covering my missile with a stocking, it shields it from saliva ;D ;D ;D

There's only about two inches between it and the shelf above it, so there isn't really any room for stuff.

Nothing but the shelf above it has cds, a clock, a dictionary, a phone, a flashlight and a tigar made out of olive wood that I bought in Israel.

I have a flat-screen monitor as well...so nothing fits atop of it...however, on the top shelf of my desk (above my computer) sits my "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil monkey statues".

I have a Dell flat screen that I bought in January, so nothing can really fit on top because it's too slim. I do have my old work name placard at the bottom (they misspelled my name, so I kept this one and have the new one at work). Looks like the only thing on top of my monitor may just be dust :0) ;D

There's nothing on mine (bar dust!) because it's ye olde-fashioned type box which is tilted upwards, so anything would probably roll off...
